Clever and good humoured little poem, and what a timely theme. Your words are well chosen, and it flows easily, so well done. best wishes for the contest.

So glad you took a break from shopping to read my poem, Ms. Wendy. So, you had Black Friday before we yanks, so how'd you come out? Fair Dinkum or slightly stinkum? Hope you did well.

Absolutely did not go out! Too hot here (today about 110 and we are still in spring!) But I don't need anything anyway, and am even ahead in Christmas shopping!! I enjoyed your poem a lot.

I've become a gift card giver! Let 'em buy what they want or need. If they had ever told me, I would not remember. I'm just a man... Very interesting to me that the two reviews I have received have come from Canada and Australia. Me thinks my fellow Americans are all still shopping where you folks have common sense. Always wonderful to hear from y'all!

Black Friday has only just taken off here in the last couple of years.

Very good poem about Black Friday. I have always wondered why people would stand in line sometimes for hours just to save a little bit, and often end up without the item they were seeking. You have the right idea - stay home.

Thanks Anne Johnston of Montreal! Glad you got out of line at Wal-Mart and read my poem! No, ma'am, no way I venture out on Black Friday. My wife does sometime, so that is a bonus day for me and the dogs! They get to sleep on the couches and I get to drink whiskey before 5.

I heard on the radio that there were people who started lining up at one store at noon on Thursday - for shoes

For shoes? Bless their soles! Very interesting to me that the two reviews I have received have come from Canada and Australia. Me thinks my fellow Americans are still all shopping where you folks have common sense. Always wonderful to hear from y'all!
