This is terrific. You do such a wonderful job of sharing the feature and worry that someone must feel waiting to hear from a soldier in harms way. I thought the part about even if he is scarred you want him back. Very touching and beautiful.

So many wives are sitting at home during the holidays this year feeling the feelings you have described in your poem. It is sad that we have to have our loved ones gone at all but necessary for the safety of those at home in our country. Thanks for sharing this post.

This is certainly the prayer of everyone who has a soldier deployed in a faraway place. Please let them serve safely and come home. But no matter what, let them come home to those who love them.
