We had Christmas in the states last year but it was not a large gathering. I hope in 2021 we will again have the some of the social gatherings that are necessary for families.

Hey Iza. Who is the Mayor in Manitoba, The Grinch? LOL We have banned a lot of things here in the states, but thank goodness not Christmas decorations yet. Boy, that will be a great shot in the arm for the economy, eh? Funny piece this. Bob

The piece is interesting. It feels like a blog written during a plague, which it kind of is. And I understand these sentiments deeply.
Still, the piece is a bit scattered: at first the 'blogger' seems angry about horrible happenings in Alberta, but then admits it's way worse in Manitoba, for instance. Or the 'blogger' talks about how they love Christmas movies/Television and drinking eggnog, yet these actions aren't actually outlawed during a pandemic. Indeed, they are encouraged, so again the blogger's true nemesis is either the plague itself or the subsequent lockdown due to the plague, but it's never clear which.

You're venting your frustrations in this chapter, and some frustrations they are. Banning Christmas? Who runs Alberta, the Grinch? We have no bans like that in North Carolina. The individual need to vent emotions comes loud and clear through your essay here, and it bumps up against the government controls. And it is frustrating. Hold onto your faith, it's all you have left. Some advice on that eggnog; mix one tumbler of fresh eggnog with a shot of southern comfort or other whiskey, add a dash of cinnamon and stick in a cinnamon stick. estory

A very well-written heartfelt story. The coronavirus have a long-lasting effect on our lives that we will not easily get rid of so that we can continue our lives like normal again.

Hello Iza.
I found this chapter quite interesting. In your detail, you've expressed in many concerns that we all must have regarding the virus.
In the states, the virus has been used to close churches so I'm not surprised that it is being used to cancel Christmas. I am sure the Lord has not canceled Christmas. It is only men that have done that.
It does seem like the devil is taking charge these days. As you say, he fools you with freebies and deception. It is like the bread and circuses that the Roman Empire had when they were in decline.
This is a piece of strong writing. Congratulations.
Robert

Hi Iza, here they had just announced lockdown will stop from next Wednesday and our Prime minister hoped we could enjoy Christmas with lockdowns in the worst-hit areas, not here and I am off to Lanzarote for Christmas. Also when returning just five days instead of 10 for keeping isolated in your home. A very informative story. Cheers and good luck.

Really? No decorating? But you can decorate your own place, right? You should put lots of decorations! I'm so sorry to hear about the terrible rise in cases there. I did like the "coup de foudre" you felt with the Christmas movies!

It's fun to read your monologue and it expressed my feelings l, too. I really want to see family in Christmas but it's hard now due to COVID19. I hear that the death rate in general population is less than 2% while it's 20% for people over 70. I pray I can go to Mexico at the end of January and most people will have vaccine by then.
