Mike,
What a wonderful, simple, GOOD story. 'Good' in the sense that it's well-written and 'good' in the sense of what it stands for. *smile*
A couple of notes, if I may:
1.) but the (oaks) still have a grip on theirs.
--> there's no need to cap 'oaks'
2.) "You('re) just a young whippersnapper!"
3.) Too many cheeseburgers for me(.)" (W)e both chuckled.
Thanks for a heart-warming story.

What a sweet story. Such a simple premise - a man visiting an elderly woman. But so much passes between them in the simple act of having a coffee - and it goes from there.
Some of your descriptions are lovely, including this one: "Framed by leafless trees, the horizon depicts many different brush strokes."

I very much enjoyed your installment, as I have enjoyed the others.
Ms. Billie is a wonderful compilation of the characteristics we admire in previous generations, one who works hard, fears God and doesn't complain.
There is such grit in her.
And the character of Mr. Little (could that be you :) is a perfect accompaniment. He represents the best of the present as she represents the best of the past.
They are a terrific couple, who love, respect and honor each other.
Excellent work.

I think it's a great little tale that illustrates how helping others can make so much happier and more satisfied. Cutting wood for someone, buying them groceries, is so much more satisfying than going on a computer and ordering things for yourself from Amazon. Sharing that cup of coffee, the glory of a sunset, the words from the Bible, seem to enrich the simple scene and make it worth living in. Bet those butternut squash muffins were good. I love butternut squash soup. estory

This is a gentle and lovely story that you are writing. I can imagine this happening. Just a couple of spelling errors, probably typos. Children of Israel (not Isreal) and Genesis (not Genisis). Thank you for sharing.

Hello to you Mr. papa55mike
Oh Yes, I enjoyed reading part 3 that Mr. Little is back to help Miss Bille. What I like it brings back memories when
My grandmother lived alone with a hand pump for waster and has glass lamps for light, plus a wood stove for heat and cooking.
I will be waiting for your next post

When I was young I loved to talk to older people, there was always so much wisdom there, now I'm one of them, but the younger seek their own counsel, well done, great story, with great wisdom, well done, blessings Roy
Typo : Then settles down (in) her rocker. 2: And I'll be there (to) help.

This is a wonderful story, Mike. Miss Billie is probably the happiest person for miles around. Mr. Little is very kind to supply her with a few supplies she has been living without. There is much wisdom in your story here, I enjoyed it very much. Well done. Nancy:)
