Lovely story, it's difficult to write with such a short word count but this is really well thought out.
The moon is such a beautiful and thought-provoking thing to look at in the night's sky, this really comes across in your story.
Good Luck

This is a very strong entry for the contest! Really good description. My fav parts: My heartbeat slows to match the rhythm of the pace of nature while at restful sleep. And the ending really sealed it up nicely!

Haunting. Stunning imagery--Thoughts stir, unwinding, like silent reels whirling of bygone days when you sat beside me--star-worthy in itself!
Intriguing closer, cleverly phrased.

rhythm [omit: of the pace] of nature

That solo call matches this Mourning moon phase's tenor (?) separating (?) the winter solstice (?), reminding me of the cycles of life we once shared.

moral [MORTAL] soul

This piece is beautifully written. It is almost like a prose poem. I like your similes and metaphors in this piece of writing. You should write a poetry version of this story.

Well done.

That moon will get you every time. I'd not heard of a November Beaver moon, so I had to let Google help me out. I'm glad I did because it also mentioned the mourning moon, which is more apropos to your poem of love lost, love remembered, love hoped-for still. This is a good poem whose images tie together the moon's meanings vis-a-vis romance.

Good poem. I wish you luck with it.

I especially like the beginning and the end. The illustration is lovely and sets the stage for your words. The ending, "How many ways..." sums it u beautifully.

This is a bittersweet poem about a love lost and the one who mourns being consoled by the beauty of nature. A love relationship is certainly a journey without a passport.

I've often wondered what it is that moves us so much in our lives that never quite moved us before. As we age it still seems to grow sharper, and the longer we live the more people leave us behind, the stronger it becomes, well done, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
