This is a fascinating series. Your offering takes the baton from June and returns it to her, with each poem enriching the picture. That wonderful smell of petrichor is nicely encapsulated in your couplet.

I enjoyed your 7-7 addition to the Renga book and apreciated your appeal to our sense of smell, whereas June focussed on our sense of sight. The rainy picture is just right as well. Smiles- Joan

Ah. A perfect follow-up to June's poem that predicted the rain. Your poem helps to smell and feel the rain. Then Roy's poem continued with the rain blessing the ground. Great series!

Comment from Gloria ....
I also love the loamy scent of soil after the rain.
This is a fine addition to your Renga book and leaves great room for development.
Much enjoyed and many thanks for sharing. :)

I do love the scent of the earth after the rain. The marriage of heaven's pure rain and earth's rich soil...to produce bountiful fruits, flowers and vegetables.

Another fine poem, Gypsy--here's my try--
Drunken drunks stumble down stairs
and do splash down on their face
Roll over and lose their guts--what do you think of my 777 deal?

Gypsy,
On walks in the woods after any rainfall, those smells do permeate one's senses regardless of the season. Your 7-7 couplet did exactly that. Nice overall presentation for this Renga collaboration!

I really like this, Gypsy. I love walking in the rain and enjoy the fresh scent filling the air right afterwards. When we were stationed in Puerto Rico as an Air Force family, we lived across the street from the Caribbean Sea. We were always eager to go down to the beach following a storm and hunt for driftwood, seashells, and sea glass.

This couplet evokes the scents and feel of a winter's walk. I imagine myself all muffled up against the chill walking in my boots on a path covered in leaf mould beside a cold river.
You use alliteration, consonance and assonance to great effect in these two lines..
Stay safe and blessed
