This is all so wonderfully magical and whimsical. Nicholas, the young gardener, did hope to be relieved of his academic responsibilities, but alas, that was not to be. He will have to pursue them alongside his new calling as caretaker of this living and very unpredictable garden where it seems that new and very strange things are possible!

Nicholas has certainly found his calling. Who could resist a job like this one? No wonder he wants to dive right in a forget about everything else. I was happy to see that Archie is supporting school as part of job Nicholas has to do.

Guess it was important that Valentin know my work times...? - should this be '... Valentin knows my work times'?
Immediately, it raised all of its shoots and branches off the desk to stand up at attention around the edges of the desk - I might have deleted 'up'

Immediately, it raised all of its shoots and branches off the desk to stand up at attention around the edges of the desk - I might have deleted 'up'

Devining. That could be very helpful, if it can be trusted. Story super fun. Alive, funny, easy to get inside of and play with the characters. Or just sit back and watch. Witty banter. I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that there is a map that lays out the locations of all of the shoots and sprigs that go into a garden. that's a pretty interesting concept you have there. It never occurred to me to think about anything like that especially when one of the guys is becoming part of the map.
Fantasy is too complicated for me I think.

I think this chapter is about the magical map where the plants come alive. It is quite amazing for the Nicholas. Valentin's showing up on the map surprised everyone.
