This is just stunning. The imagery and visuals are fantastic; this conjures up a clear picture for a reader, and I love it.

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and giant sixer, Yelena. Yeah, I searched through a lot of pictures until I found the right one. Too many of them didn't have huge thorns on them like I was looking for. Plus I enhanced the picture's colors a little too. Every once in a while I'll break down and come up with a haiku idea. Lol. I reviewed so many haiku where I had to educate the people on haiku writing - yours is perfection! I should quote yours when I try to explain the difference between a haiku and Chinese ballet! (lol)

Lol. Yeah, it bugs me when the site has a haiku contest but pretty well just lets anything fly. Not many folks get the haiku. What can you do? Ha

I reviewed quite a few that didn't qualify. Had to educate them. One actually came in second after my lessons (lol). Have to have patience.

An exceptional haiku. Everything ... photo, the link between the 'fierce beauty' and 'soldiers at the gate' (really loved that!) and the link between the fence and the gate.
