This is an excellent poem about ignoring a problem, and denial.
When a really difficult problem comes our way, we deny it and file it away as problem solved.
I think the theme you are getting at is that we should face our problems and take heed to warnings. I think children and adults would enjoy your lovely poem.

This is a clever write and a creative way to make an analogy to what is going on in the world today not only with raising kids but also with political 'stuff'.
