Wit and whimsy--love the punchline--in cahoots with Time! Clever take on stealthy time flying invisibly--or maybe just so fast that it's but a blur! (Or maybe the blur is due to Time's tossing me a pair of cataracts.) Nice work! Cheers. LIZ

On the days I don't have class, I have no idea where the hours go!! ;) :) Thanx so much for your review here, LIZ! ;) You know, I really had no idea this was not a blind contest when I entered it - when the first review came in addressing me directly I was completely flummoxed! ;) Yeah, I know, silly blonde.... right? :) But I am so very glad that you enjoyed it and I do so appreciate your comments - thank you!! :) ;) Take care of you out there and enjoy the upcoming weekend! ;) Yvette

Very clever entry for the 8-6 Poem contest. I liked your approach, other posing your your question of things that fly. Your last line brought it all home. Well done, good luck in the contest.

This is very funny and gives you food for thought. Where did the saying "time flies" come from? I mean it really does fly but that's neither here nor there. Thanks for sharing. Best of luck in the contest.

I think it's just one of those sayings that's been around for so long that we just don't even question it any more. ;) :) Thanx so much for your review, Boogie!! ;) You know, I really had no idea this was not a blind contest when I entered it - when the first review came in addressing me directly I was completely flummoxed! ;) Yeah, I know, silly blonde.... right? :) But I am so very glad that you enjoyed it and I do so appreciate your comments - thank you!! :) ;) Take care of you out there and enjoy the upcoming weekend! ;) Yvette

This is an interesting poem format. It seems you developed the theme of whether or not time flies, or can fly, or seems to fly. My favorite lines, maybe because 'd' alliteration is present on emphasized words without being heavy handed with 'dim' and 'dared' is: All looked at me like I was dim
when I dared ask them why. I think older children would like reading this, as it enlarges on an idiom or cliche that everyone has heard of but has not really thought about much, probably.

Good luck in the contest Yvette. A wonderful picture choice. I enjoyed the theme behind your words. The passage of time is truly limitless and your words did indeed capture the concept. Well done.

It is only humans who complain about time slipping through our fingers, the birds and bees just get on with the business of living. This is food for thought Yvette, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I can never figure out when I should sign my name and write personal notes and when I should not.
I got in trouble for identifying myself and writing a nice personal note a month ago when I joined the site so I don't usually sign or say anything personal anymore. Maybe one day I'll get it right. :)

Dear yvette, Do you ever wonder where these crazy ideas that you write about, come from?? I suspect that this one came from the illustration that you posted with this poem. Of course I have to give you credit for the construction of this excellent 6-8 poem.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to be like nature's creatures, having no awareness of the passing of time, except to act on their God-given instincts to sustain life as seasons change? Your poem is creatively-conceived and well-written. I like your method of conveying the theme.
