Your tips are well presented with concrete examples, Sally. I enjoyed the variety of ways to express to readers what your characters really look like rather than just saying the woman had a nice complexion. Your examples covered so many possible situations. The videos were great additions, too.
Thanks for sharing your generous heart with FS authors.
Respectfully, Jan

Really intense descriptions that enables your characters to come to life. The artwork fits wonderfully with your theme, and the videos naturally go well with your incorporating "The Phantom of the Opera" into the writing itself, which flowed beautifully from one facialdescription to the next. Great advice.

There was some good teaching in here. I will come back to it and read it some more later. Having some trouble with missing reviewing spaces not sure if going Monthly has anything to do with that but I was paid up so don't understand.

Thank you for the wonderful review and shower of stars, dear Geoff. I'm more relieved to know you're not leaving than anything. I'm not sure if I understand the month to month membership. I didn't know about this. No worries...just stay close. Facebook is not as stable as we think.

You are right about Facebook. Melissa Brown if you remember her knows of a better place than Facebook. There are a couple of alternatives I believe.

There's nothing more important than the description of the character otherwise how does one have and capture imagery, the next is the surrounds, and so on, until we have set the scene, poetry is more of the theme's spirit, I loved this essay Sally, very useful for a story in a poem, well done, blessings Roy

A fine compendium of helpful tips for writers here Sally and I enjoyed your advice. Our accurate descriptions are indeed essential to help the reader picture someone's face.

I especially loved Dickens description of his niece it the novel a "Christmas Carol" when he said: "With a dimpled, surprised-looking, capital face; a dainty little mouth that seemed made to be kissed--as no doubt it was; all kinds of good little dots about her chin," He is such a creative writer and his characters come to life.

Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

This is really great writing advice. I was fortunate to have an excellent editor who told me the same about descriptions. I had not known how important the face description is.

Well Sally dear girl - this has to be the most descriptive piece of writing I have ever read LOL! I love the start of this story, how, when reading a book we conjure up a picture of the person. I read Wuthering Heights at school and fell in love with the archetypal anti-hero - Heathcliff. Nothing to do with his looks - those I conjured up in my mind - but of course when I saw Laurence Olivier in the role I was not disappointed. Attraction is a strange thing. First thing I noticed when I met my husband at a dance, it was his magnificent teeth when he asked me to dance - and he still has them. LOL! There is no recipe for love - it just happens. I love your line 'Truth is wasted when it falls on unresponsive ears.' What a great few words. I had fun reading your story. Looking forward to more - love Dorothy xxx

Well, that is just the nicest compliment, dear Dorothy. Thank you so much. I hope this helps you with your poetry and prose and a blessing to you. I had hoped this would be a blessing to everyone in my Fanbase and those who are learning to write or who are professional writers like yourself. I'm somewhere in the beginning stages, but love writing so much.

Thank you for the lovely review and generous stars!! :))

Sending you my best today as always and blessings for your day, Sally xoxoxo
