Very interesting. It seems you brought a little US history into a modern retelling and added a bit of rhyming intrigue. It was a good story in poetic form. I like the alternating scheme, and the complete tail.

This was a good idea. This contest is really bringing out the best.

This is an excellent poem of the American Civil War. Perhaps I am a bit ignorant because I do not get the Nikki Wickett part. However the rest is well done.
