Awesome! Love this. Reminds me when we were kids we'd pick the petals of buttercups saying he loves me he loves me not until we got to the last one. I like this chances at Love they come and go the how or why we'll never know . ''Tis one thing sure in Cupid's shot he'll love you or he'll love you not. Nicely done.

I love this poem! It takes you from care-free youth to disillusionment in later life with the repeated phrase ending each verse. Good writing and good point! Also, as love poems go, it addresses the subject over time, in a different, philosophical way. Very nice, and good luck in the contest.

Wo do grow wiser as we grow older--well--most people do! Thank God, basic happiness is not dependent on the ongoing presence of romance. Rhyme and meter, also excellent
