Thank you for your dedication. I would listen to anyone, especially someone that must overcome to present. The world can be harsh, but our heros come from the audience. Thank you for writing and sharing and your sweet humanity.

You are right. Not everyone has the ability to bring their writing forth. I am oneof them.Fanstory is a great pathway for me. I began with it and I have now published a book of poems.
I wish many others get the chance to promote themselves.
Well done. And thank you for the encouragement.

I love your poem and the message of poetic diversity within it. You have captured everyone so well. I liked the way you framed the piece with the first stanza idea repeated at the end.

I hope your friend find the courage to give it a go and I am sure with your support and encouragement she will.

thanks for sharing
Fiona

Thank you, Fiona, for your kind review. My friend found her voice on FanStory but every now and then I urge to read at an open mic.

G'day mate, Bravo! This is a great piece, the flow and rhythm are superb, but the content made me proud of you. Open mics are fun and to see and hear disabled strut their stuff is awesome. I used to teach them poetry in a radio show I did for a few years, it's just fantastic. Well done, cheers Fez

Thank you, Fez, for your kind review and your work with disabled poets a few years ago. I am impressed by the diversity and quality of people performing at open mics.

Sis Cat you get a six for that.
I love the admonition to get your poem out there no matter what. Brave and courageous to crawl wheel or mime to compute it whatever. Let's grab every valuable syllable and celebrate the poem
God bless

Hi SisCat - this is a lovely dedication to a poet with cerebral palsy who fears performing in public. This is a fear many people have, even famous stars, but the power of the spoken words is so strong that performers find it necessary to overcome the fear. Your poem is very inspiring, telling us of all these disabled people who, by whatever means, are determined to make their 'voice' heard. Good Luck with your submission to the magazine. Warm regards Dorothy x

Dorothy, thank you for your review. When I saw what these poets were doing and how, I overcame my fear of public speaking quickly. I asked myself, "What's your excuse?" I am glad you found my poem inspiring.

A lovely encouraging poem about the voice of the disabled. It touched my heart, my feelings were that of being inspired by those who struggle in daily life still needing, still having a voice. The imagery is humbling to those of us who take for granted the ability to walk and speak. It is especially touching for me since my brother lost his voice to cancer and has been silenced forever. Be Blessed in your endeavors, you serve as a shining light. I would not change a word

You captured my attention from the first line to the last. For I can truly relate. I had some set backs in my life yet god bless me that I could still write.
Thank you for sharing.
