Sure do!
This is a wonderfully whimsical free verse posing the eternal questions of what's next, and why, etc. in a most unique style and with original imagery, tone and phrasing. I enjoyed the upbeat energy and snappy cadences, nicely nuanced with 'harmonics' by the random rhyming and good use of spacing for dramatic pause effect.
Favorite part to contemplate:
life and death
are
one butterfly breath
apart ...
but when my heart
stops beating
do I float like fairy light to heights of blissful limbo
and sit in glory? is that the story?
Favorite part to read aloud:
and what do I do, drifting in space
with a smile on my face, racing to nowhere
for no reason
except that my season
is over,
but I'm not in clover
'cause I'm waiting for answers
to the unanswerable?
what's next?
that's the vexing question
Artistic presentation(nice artwork)!
Good choice to use no caps and minimal punctuation.
Did not notice any nits.
enjoyed the phonetics of poetic devices like rhyme, assonance etc.
Love,
rd

Hi Sharyn,
As always a work that helps me pause and ponder. Loved the imagery in your poem. Sure makes me think of roller coasters in a whole new way.
I loved this one, and such great alignment, for we must all find that trust.
Thanks for sharing it.

I love your philosophical ponder on 'what's next".
I do think that the spirit is eternal and that this life is such a glorious adventure that whatever IS next won't be any less interesting.
Hopefully, if we have risen to the challenges here ... we will have gained some abilities than we can take with us on the next leg of the adventure.
Hugs, d

I do know. Not because I'm a man, or because I'm better than others, but because I asked long ago when it seemed death rendered life meaningless. Christ is alive and offers forgiveness and new life in Him to anyone who will believe.
The Apostles were eye witnesses of His resurrection and while it may seem easy to discount that, a comparison of their other writings with this report reveals that lying simply doesn't fit into the tenor of said writings which are of the highest ethical consistency.
You can tell me to "bug off" or "that's good for you" but really, you are left with conjecture if you discount the reality of Christ. Dennis

and do I discount that reality anywhere in this piece, Dennis dear? no, I do not ... precisely the point of my piece ... we're always wondering, yes? :)))
-
But emphatically no, if we believe the record. :)
-
and there you have "faith" my dear friend, yes? :)))))
-
Faith has to be in something or someone. It can't simply exist without an object and truly be faith.
Neither is it supposed to be a "leap of faith" a jump into the dark, merely hoping for the best for no reason.
As I'm sure you are well aware, the Bible has much to say about the faith. Scripture informs us as to what true faith is so that we can confidently say, "I know". Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Here is the faith revealed; Godâ??s Everlasting Love
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against Godâ??s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
â??For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.â??[c]
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. God bless you, Dennis

If we knew what was next, half of the mystery of life that inspires and drives us might not exist. Still, part of me agrees that it would be fun to know. Smiles, Cindy

I will never look at a roller-coaster the same way again. so many good lines here, really can't get them all down w/out a re-type. the excitement of a roller coaster is in the not knowing and in not knowing, there is joy in every curve and plunge. I wish I knew, but I will not base my entire life in looking for the answer. just buckle up and enjoy the ride! ( which you obviously do).

do we all vanish
into ephemeral
butterfly blue?
If we have to vanish I cannot think of a better place to do it. I don't want to think about it cause it will come soon enough.

Seems as if you're asking what's your purpose in life at the stage you're in now. Is life a roller coaster ride? No, I don't think so. There's a reason, but like you I don't know. My favorite verse:
"life and death
are
one butterfly breath
apart ...
but when my heart
stops beating
do I float like fairy light to heights of blissful limbo
and sit in glory? is that the story?"
Especially like "butterfly breath" So original. A wonderful post! Les
