How I hate this time, Sharyn. at least I'm not bombarded by all of the TV news and selectively get my information from the internet. Great piece. I hope it makes people give a little more thought before they go into those voting booths.

I don't watch TV at all Diane - I refuse to (besides which, we don't have it out here and I won't get a satellite dish because my husband & son would drive me nuts with it). What I do see of it insults my intelligence! Eventually people will be angry enough to rise up - but I doubt it will be in my lifetime.

i stopped watching TV close to three years ago. When I'm at my Son's home he usually finds something on Netflix and we just watch the movie.

BRAVO Sharyn ! You said it girl, loud and clear. Just wish everyone could get it. I'm going to show this to my 13 year old. She loves Slam Poetry and will definitely appreciate this almost as much as I do.

For originality and power of message - yes, I can see this as Slam Poetry - would like to see you perform it.
Love the constant flow of internal rhyme and near-rhyme, many of them extremely clever and original. Plus the intensification towaeds the end: and vermin, rich and poor
raise the howl for blood, and herd together
heading for the cliff
no fiercesome viper, no Pied Piper needed
And then a solution - better hope we have enough quiet movers and shakers and pollinators before we get to the tipping point.

Sharyn, this was really a powerful piece. I did feel the anger in the beginning as it began to slow down and mellow in the ending. Liked the overall presentation, though I know that it is meant to be performed, rather than just read- but was really effective the one word per line. Great job! Holly
