Written words cannot be unread
Spoken words cannot be unsaid
Choose your medium wisely
Parse them, be sparse with them
Words unkind do not bind
The mind may bleed words blind
Sensitive sensible diction
Eliminates written retraction
Sorry- best I could do in just a few words
Thank you
K

You are right Al and the wrong usage of words is what happens when all has failed. It would be absolutely divine to see the return of the proper usage of words.

I admire when people can say a lot in a few words, as you've done. You make a really clear presentation about the results of using words wisely or unwisely. Unwise words can lead to all the consequences you suggest--wars and confrontations. In fourth paragraph, I believe you mean "made to live," not "mad." Peacemakers know how to use words wisely. We can think of times in history how wise words have guided the nation. We have also seen how unwise words of dictators have inflamed the people. judiverse

Your essay is, at the same time, niave, and didactic.
Actually, your thoughts are combative, and totally
self-congratulatory. I'm sure you'll consider my words unwise. Sorry.
By the way, your author's notes amount to an attempt
to deflect true response. Censorship.
I share your reverence for words, but not your POV.
Peace, Lee

We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace. And, if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other, unconditionally. Perhaps we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.
"...discords or tussles and be [mad] made to live isolated."---->seems your "E" has escaped, Al. Time to call out the alphabet blood hounds...

Five stars today for this excellent essay on the consequences of words, whether wise or otherwise. This is, indeed, a very pleasant post you have given us, and a markedly different effort than others from you recently. Whatever the difference, it is for the better. An alpha listing of the wise and the unwise words contributes positively. Easy to read and easy to follow - thus easy to critique. Well done.

Well done.
I especially enjoy your second line and the use of the word "listen" over "hear". You know the difference.
"Courtesy costs nothing but buys everything".
Perfectly worded, akin to a proverb.
The ending seems cut short, but what you have is likewise well-written. It seems to lack a final knockout punch to outdo the jabs at foolishness you have peppered throughout your piece.

To give account and compliment to your fine piece, I think the book of Proverbs, found in the Holy Bible will assist your concept. Wisdom is justified by those who have it and it is free for the asking. I like your work. It tells a deep story of mankind. .
