Oh, that nifty but naughty muse! Would like to bet the times only a few lines come are more and more common, but waking at night or feeling uneasy until things are written down is another possibility. Very nice extended personification. I think I would put a comma after "done" in the second to last line, since there are two independent sentences which make sense standing alone. Good luck in contest!

Thanks. Yes, she seems to have a lot of fun with me. I'll take another look at that second to last line.

Hello fellow poet. Good job on the writing prompt entry, I really enjoyed it. I loved the rhyme and rhythm of it, had a great flow. Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks. This one wasn't too hard. I guess that little muse wanted a poem about herself!

Blasted muses, eh? This one is neatly rhymed and scanned, and I can imagine it being performed as a recitation. Nice little twist in the tail! I wonder if you've ever read Lloyd Alexander's The Flatheeled Muse... I'll never forget that one.

Oh, that clever muse of yours! She does her thing when she's ready and has you wrapped around her little finger making you get up out of a sound sleep to work according to her time scale!! Now that is pretty cool!

Thanks. I don't know if she's having some fun with me or if she just can't tell time.

Muses are weird, they can be capricious, they can be fun. They can be flirty, they can be dirty. One thing that I do not appreciate about muses is that they sometimes absent themselves when they are very much needed. Like men and women say about each other: Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

A great muse poetry contest entry. An enjoyable read which made me smile. Sometimes I think my muse has left the building. No edits or adjustments necessary from me.

Thanks. Yes, they seem to take little vacations. Glad it made you smile.

This piece is very well-written, descriptive, and entertaining. It sounds as though your "muse" might be closely related to mine--not always reliable
but sometimes very demanding when present! :-)

Thanks. I've been reading some of the other entries, and it seems they're a little unreliable as a species.

Hello Author, I love your muse musings... ;) I did find one line that could use another syllable... it just threw me a little as I was reading.
"She'll disappear when it's light
Then (she'll wake me) (she wakes me) late at night"
I know what you mean though... mine does the exact same thing. I'm a night writer. Very seldom do things come to me during the daylight hours.
I always love reading about peoples muses... it's always fun. :)

Thanks. Yes, the best ideas do seem to come at night. I'll take another look at that line.

This is exactly how it is for me, too. They are tricky little rascals, for sure. LOL I totally enjoyed reading your creative posting and wish you the best in the contest!
