A well-written poem that flows nicely and rhymes well. It's a delightful ode that hooks the reader. I like this idea in memory of a lost pet loved one; it's good to write odes about our pets. I'm sure lots can relate to this scenario with their pet dog; they can be so difficult to control no doubt in these rather unpleasant behaviors. Your descriptions are easy to read and understand; I don't have to read through several times as I find with others. It's to the point and I like the simple moments you created in memory. It's fun and an honest ode of those maybe unwelcoming times we welcome now that they're gone. Best,

Awwww. I hate hearing about a loss like this, Earrl. I have lived through three dogs like this and it is so darned hard to get through. You keep looking in ceetain places they haunted , expecting to see them ther where they "belong" I understand. sorry for your loss, partner. Bob

Thank you Bob. My wife kept telling Dinky you have to be immortal. We had to put our cat of 15 years, Moe, down last week. Life is certainly different without them. I appreciate you reading and reviewing my work.

This breaks my heart. God bless Dinky and God bless you for taking good care of him. I had a 23-year-old cat and she finally had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. You wrote something that lingers in the heart.

what a delightful name for a doggy. Your rhyming ode to Dinky was a fun read. I do hope that he won't suffer. You are blessed to have such a pet for so long.

A very well-written heartfelt rhyming poem about a beloved pet that we sometimes have to euthanize to stop their suffering. It may seem cruel to others but it is more humanly to stop their suffering.

Great poem and I loved the picture of dinky. I have a doggy door so I don't have to go outside when it's cold. For me, those things are a wonderous thing. You did a good job. Shirley

I was just getting ready to PM you to see where you've been. Sorry about Dinky. My dog of 20 years died a few years ago of cancer and the vet who put him down offered me meds and a cab ride home. We love our pets.
This is sweet and glad to see you writing anything at all.
All my best,
Sal ;+)

Thanks Sally, I've been busy between teaching and working at a newspaper evenings and weekends We had to put our cat of 15 years, Moe , down last week. That made this hurt doubly. I appreciate you looking in and being concerned for me.
