Great poem, it kind of has a musical tone. Great visuals, easy flow, and each line just melts into the next. Wonderful rhyme scheme, it gives your poem that light touch that creates a memorable poem. Thanks for sharing.

Simply outstanding. I do smell the earthy night. Thanks for that. Poets often over look the 'suggestion of scent'.

I love the lore and the language.
The third and fourth stanzas stands out to me.
I hear a gathering brogue. Erse, or Eire, no matter.

This is an outstanding piece, T.

Peace, Lee

Many thanks for your review, Lee. I very much appreciate your kind words and the award of six stars. Yes, the wee folk of Erin are famous for spiriting unwary people away! Best wishes, Tony

It reads so beautifully Tony. How do you get those lines to sing like they do. It's like watching water flow from a glass even and patiently. I wonder what it would sound like with you reading the words. Would it be as sweet? great stuff xoxo Kiwi

Many thanks for your lovely review, Deborah. I appreciate your kind words. I've only attached a sound recording of a poem a couple of times, one read by Pantygynt and one read by me. Maybe I'll do it again one day and shatter all your illusions! LOL Best wishes, Tony

This imaginative poem really tickled my fancy, Tony! It is full of whimsy and you've created some very original imagery for your reader. I love it all, but especially your first stanza.

Incredibly well written, entertaining, and you taught me a new word (bacchanal). Perfect pairing of picture and poem. Excellent abab rhyme scheme.

Terrific poem!

Many thanks for your lovely review, Connie, and for the six star award. I appreciate your kind words. I almost left the poem at the end of the first stanza. It sat for quite a while before I added the rest. All the best, Tony

It's good that you revisited the piece. The result is great! Sometimes it seems to go that way, wherein even though a write has been put aside, our mind still seems to percolate on it, and when ready we come back to it.

This poem, Mushroom Circles, with its ABAB quatrain stanzas, written in iambic pentameter, create a sense of ending that comes when life's mysteries are revealed and what was curiosity becomes dull life. One might sense that a body lies beneath the soil that is peppered with stool-like fungi. Lovely poem.

A very well-written poem about the mystery of mushrooms appearing from apparently nowhere overnight. They are interLinked to fairies and frogs in fairy tales

Hi Tony. I think this charming poem is well written. First stanza sets the scene for the reader, but I think the third is my favorite. It has an air of magic about it. In my mind, somehow fairies and mushrooms are linked. Wonderful word choices throughout that capture the imagination. Excellent rhyming. Marilyn

This is a delightful little piece in praise of wild mushrooms and touching on their supernatural qualities that country folk have long held dear. As well as the regular rhyme and metre this one employs the regular use of alliteration as a unifying feature of the poem.

But (and I am no expert) they look deadly poisonous to me. But maybe Australian toadstools are more forgiving.

I had to upload a picture from FanArtReview as the uploader wouldn't accept the image I wanted to post. This has happened a couple of times recently - not sure if it is my computer or whether site maintenance is needed.
