This is a very interesting piece. It nicely uses metaphors and leaves us to ponder where we are to go -- eventually. Good job and good luck.

Age old ponderings Sharyn, and for definitive answers there is much material to seek out. The Bible of course gives great solace to many but one of my personal all time favorite references is The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche. It's definitely a lot easier read than the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Then again it may just be better to make hay while the sun shines now and look forward to the inevitable realization when our time comes for that new adventure. We are born to die so it's just another part of the journey. I enjoyed your ponderings, staystrong'n'livelong, Garth

Ah yes What is the answer? But should even ask the question. Maybe there is no answer. Maybe we are just meant to cherish the wonderful gift of life that is only loaned to us, one day at a time.

Well done

Dave

Well Done ~ Sharyn

This poetry causes the reader to pause and think. I
like the way that the words are arranged on the page.
It held my interest from start to finish. Thank You
for your creation.

Indeed I'm sure man alike wonders what's around the next corner of the next/or not potential life but until we get there we can only ponder, wonder, claim or hope. Funny how we will only get to find out once it has happened and we can't validate it here and now.
Ultimately I feel some kind of FAITH that we're ALL here for a reason and whether that reason is the journey now, beyond or perhaps in a past life, we've made some contribution along the way.
I honestly believe its about the mark we make while we are on this earth that becomes our legacy in death. I STILL can't help but wonder beyond your butterfly blue too.
I don't think you need to be religious to wonder if there IS something a little more divine than living in a turbulent world such as this.
Great write, flowed beautifully and you captured so eloquently quite probably the thoughts and questions of many. Well done.
Cheers P

This could be a question poem or where we are in life?
Like a roller coaster, is life at the top that majestic or is it just another view?
As the roller coast in life, we will get the creeps and the thrills - each giving us a sensation of what life is all about.
It is never insipid, somehow, somewhere, sometime, it will wake us up from our slumber to continue the climb up in a roller coaster.
One breath away from touching that exquisite blue butterfly with all the blues and bruises, we are taken for another higher flyer ride only to be roller down again.
Up and down and down and up - we are all taken for a mysterious ride in life. Anyone counting how many downs we have had and how few ups? Wonder where all the ups when before the butterflies flutter in our stomachs.
This poem has been dissected and a postmortem done. The words are analogous in its representations and metaphors indeed.
Excellent write but out of sixers this time. So another virtual six and a long review like this meant the poem is very good and enlightening besides being insightful as well.
Cheerio, Ritchie.

A lovely metaphor that is gentle and sweetly evoking the ultimate question
of what it is like to die. I'm not just ready to find out; however, your write is
thoughtfully and descriptively put to the reader. An enjoyable read.
Smiles. Robin :)

Hi, Sharyn.

'Trust' indeed, but who can we?

'one butterfly breath' is an excellent metaphor to infer brevity.

I'm not sure 'I wish I knew', as it would blow my tiny mind. :-)

Excellent write.

Cheers, ray

I used to ask MYSELF the 'questions', Sharyn, but I gave up when I got no sense back. :-) xx
