This is a brilliant and beautiful presentation, Brooke. Your words are just lovely, beautiful metaphors. 'admission free, God's gallery"- wonderful lines. One suggestion: I think the green print takes away from the dramatic presentation. Personally, I would have this in black and white and let the photo and the words speak for you. Just a thought. I put this up with one of my favorite poems of yours. Joyce

What a lovely poem, and artwork to match! I am better able to imagine piles of snow around your house now...we get flooded in and trapped by fire, but snow must be tricky to drive on. What do you do if you need medical assistance? Do you still have power and phone (we usually lose those)? I hope you're not too chilly. :)

I have not lost power with this storm though some houses and apartments do almost every time we have snow - luckily, I've never lost it for more than 6 hours - sometimes people lose it for days! As for chilly, I have on a sweatshirt, cardigan and fleece jacket with two fleece blankets over my lap!! I don't mind the driving as much as the walking when it is slippery, though I don't love the driving either. They plow and put down lots of ice, and ambulance drivers know how to drive in bad conditions. I'm just stuck in for today and tomorrow since I'm a wimp with my bad knees - lots of people will already be back out tomorrow. :-) Thanks for being so concerned!!! Brooke

Brrr....I get the picture! Even without knowing snow/ice firsthand, you must not risk walking on any of the cold stuff with bad knees! We have been cut off - phone, electricity, water - for a week by our bottom creek. It's a pain. Take care. :)

A very well written poem that has a smooth flow of words that makes for an easy read. There is very good imagery and descriptive scheme.

An excellent execution of the minute form of poetry, which is difficult to do because of its brevity and confining rhyme scheme (aabb ccdd eeff.) Excellent iambic meter and superb juxtaposition of picture and poem.

Beautifully done! I envy you the gorgeous view, but not the snow. We had a high of 88 today and I'm wearing shorts. Great form, perfect rhymes, nice rythmn and flow. Wonderful imagery accented by a beautiful photo. I loved it.

Brooke,
I love winter-inspired poetry!
This minute poem was beautiful and evoked a longing for one more good winter storm before season's end. I missed out on your storm of last night!
Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful poem. You captured the description of nature's beauty in great detail. One of the most beautiful sights I remember is when I lived on the East coast and we used to get ice storms. The trees looked like they were covered in diamonds. Maybe I will write about them. Nicely done. I liked this one a lot.

Hi Brooke,
I have the same scene at my home right now. Your poem is beautiful and the reader can feel both the cold and the unique art which belongs in God's gallery. Thank you so much for sharing the view of your world. God bless and best wishes!

Very nice poem! It was enjoyable to read and flowed nicely. It definately expressed your thoughts well. I didn't see anything that needed revising. Nice!

I really loved your poem. You showed in your words that even though winter can be depressing and keeps you indoors because it is just too uncomfortable to go out unless you have to; just looking out on nature displayed in her winter wonderland dress, she can also inspire your words to tell her story (even though you only have one color to paint with) I thought your words were beautiful. Please giggle now - I kept thinking of Cornflakes! Well done.

Thank you for such a generous and happy review - the poem appears to have worked better on others than on myself, because after I wrote it to convince myself there is an upside to the snow, I still hate the damned stuff! LOL Brooke :-)
