A beautiful tribute to a friend. Words sail along smoothly. She must have penned simple but wonderful words on nature seen in her life's journey and seeing the good in others. Thanks for sharing!

What a lovely memorial poem to Joan! I didn't know her, but I appreciated the comments you put into your author's notes because it helps me to know her better from that and your poem. I especially like this line:
"Holding my breath, I heard the roar of her pen."
Thank you for sharing.

Hello amada, this is a lovely tribute to Joan - so well written in words that could only be meant for Joan, the intrepid traveller. You wrote it, just right.
Sad, her last journey made, not she is at rest. Well done Dorothy x

Nicely done. a nice elegy for a friend. I find I am making friends on Fan Story, all poetry and writing com, which are the major sites I use for writing and FB writing groups. I do from time to time take part in other sites, but not as much as I should. Enjoyed the read.

Thank you for this beautiful tribute to Joan. I too, thought of her as a world traveler who saw so much and generously shared her knowledge with us, her FanStory friends. As you said so eloquently..."I started seeing what she was seeing. ...Now, free of pain, she will travel for an eternity." God bless Joan E.

A very fine tribute to our dear Joan. I was shocked to find out of her passing. She did mention the words "medical issues" once when explaining that she wasn't on the site that much, but I had no idea she was seriously ill. I've known Joan on the site for many years, and she was one of my favorites. She was so polished and fine, so kind and gentle.
In fact, I just penned my own tribute to her ("A truly fine lady") but I'll release it when I promote it more.
Great tribute, thank you so much for sharing.

I have read many touching tributes to this poet and yours is equally as beautiful as they were. I never knew of this woman or her poetry, but I wish I had discovered her before it was too late. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
