You wrote such a vivid image with such a small amount of words. Great comparison true love to a movie that gets played over and over, maybe like "Gone with the Wind". I enjoyed the straight speed through the poem.

I LOVE THIS> It doesn't have to be long, or rhymed, or metered...it has to be impactful, as this is. The image, your poem...it struck me square in the heart and I FELT it through and through. What a clever line :
"memories become a movie
never forgotten
only to be replayed
at a one seated cinema"
Got a six from me my friend.....Karenina

Cheers, L. Raven;
-What a beautiful tanka where everything is followed perfectly as I am a tanka freak, I love writing tanka's. In fact I found finally after searching for a good definition of a tanker I found one if three researches in Wikipedia;
Tanka CONSISTS OF FIVE UNITS (often treated as SEPERATE LINES when romanized(ENGLISH WRITEN or translated) usually with a pattern of 5-7-5-7-7 sounds (onji is an inaccurate term for this). The group of the first three, 5-7-5, is called the kami-no-ku ("upper phrase"), and the second, 7-7, is called the shimo-no-ku ("lower phrase").
-I I have seen and read many tankers where the lines do not stand alone. Yours however, all makes sense of dread alone and standing alone.
-On top of that creative visual impact with a pivot line that holds together the first to enlist to lines of the poem.
-I think I found one issue, look below-
true love
never washes away
memories,(comma?) become a movie
never forgotten
only to be replayed
at a one seated cinema
-Thanks for sharing this, Linda, and take care and have a good one my dear friend.

Terrific 'marriage' of thoughts and picture here. Simple words to express a complex meaning. Yet I wonder if the tape in our mind is that reliable or corroded by time. Well done!

Wow! How very impressive this poetry truly is, Linda. You use a king-sized metaphor to describe the way love stays with you. Life is truly strange, isn't it, my friend? :) Good job. :) Bob

So true Linda. We live in reverie remembering
what was and what might have been. That guy
looks so alone setting there waiting for the
movie to start over. Well done dear. Nancy
