Well, someone must have tickled you today. My mother used to warn me when I was laughing too much that I'll be crying before bedtime. I'm so happy you enjoyed this, Jenny.
-
No I wasn't tickled . I had my first MRI
MY CLAUSTROPHOBIC SELF WANTED TO SCREAM
AND WRIGGLE...
But I came out thinking I am going to write about that...
A rocket in space with uncryogenicked me.....yikes yikes yikes....

Writer's block comes when the poet/author limits himself to one style. The more flexible the wordsmith is, the more areas to explore. This is well written.

Charlie! Thank you so much for your sixer. I didn't think anyone kept them this long. It is appreciated, my friend.

You're welcome, Jay. Charlie

What a brilliant idea, a 365 day calendar, I'm going to try that. I certainly need something to jerk me out of my lethargy. I wake up with a detailed plan in my head, but as soon as I switch on my computer Face book, linkedin, emails loom from nowhere. Then there are sll the things that I MUST do.

Glad to see that idea will help you, Ellie. If you have trouble downloading it, let me know. I'm not sure the link I gave you is the same as it was when this was originally written. Also, you can Google it.

I'm sorry, my friend, that I don't have any sixes left. This surly deserves one. It definitely brings to mind some of my own blocks. I usually wait and wait, like you said. Then, something hits me. Your way of doing the daily thing and the calendar is a great idea. I've heard this by you before in one of your writes. I must admit that I have not kept to the calendar as I should. But it has gotten me closer. Especially lately.
This was a well written and very interesting post. It is an aid to those (like me), who need to have constant writing in our blood. It held may attention well, because it sounds so like me in many ways. And it has a solution. All I have to do is commit.
Thank you, my friend. I will be adding this well written piece to some of your others that I've kept for later reminders. Best wishes to you, my good friend.
Always with respect,

I am gratified that you found this post useful, Elgie. It means a lot to me that my experiences aren't wasted.

I think that if I wrote your stuff I would be in trouble , but there isn't a huge amount to what I write, and the writers on site give a constant source of feed anyway, when I was on holiday in Europe the stimuli was amazing! But your pretty prolific, I have wondered if the trining will come to an end or not? It's certainly changed it's flavour. Well done, writing is like that it comes in fits an starts, store them up like a squirrel stores nuts...there is the possibility one might have a bad year, God forbid! Well done, Jay, blessings, Roy.

THank you, Roy. I appreciate your comments all the time. The Trining. Yes, it took a bad hit when I lost those chapters. I'm trying to to get it back in its groove.

Keep on

Very interesting. I have always thought of writer's block as not feeling horny (or in the mood). How does one 'Get into the mood'? I think this is the same with writing. One has to be inspired. Maybe, that a beautiful woman or a romantic song, or perhaps it has just been awhile. It is the same with writing. A theme or subject is mentioned or pops into your head. Great writing and topic.
note:
I've had a few [writers] tell me they haven't.
- I think it makes more sense with it in. At first I was like: who?

I don't understand why my answers aren't going through. This is the third time I've thanked you for your kind words. I feel like I'm starting to scream it now. THANK YOU, DAMN IT! LOL, I did add the "writer" suggestion you made.

I think when Balzac was speaking of a by the pound, he meant pound of flesh lol. At least that is what it sometimes feels like. You are right about your two hour a day solution. Rely on inspiration alone and you will get stuck. Writing is a discipline and to stay on top of your game, you must treat it as such. When I get blocked it is not stopping writing but knowing that you are not writing your best or feel in a rut. That is when it is time to shut that inner critic up and just produce. And you will fall back into the groove. Or just hit your muse with a truck lol. Great essay.

I must be a great writer because I have never had a muse but have always written every day. I can't go a day without writing something. I have a long list of titles waiting for me to write the story/blog/ramble, whatever you want to call it. I may not be a best seller, but at least I do write. Not to worry, it was not my muse that you ran over -- twice.

You are blessed, Valerie, or possessed! I'm glad I missed your muse! Thanks for reading and responding so graciously.
-
Ha! Thanks, Valerie. This is so strange. I hadn't intended to post this yet. I never post without promoting to first page. I hope at least you got a member pump.
-
I don't remember, but I never pay much attention -- I don't promote too often, just post and keep my fingers crossed, both hands.

Very informative chapter. I have found myself blocked for the first time recently. Honestly I don't know if it's a block or I just don't want to. It's hard to say which it is for me. You did a great job as always. Shirley

THanks, Shirley. You have too much to offer to not want to write. You have a block. Get the calendar. Thanks for reading and enjoying this.

Jay,
This was awesome, and I, for one, am one my way to downloads-ville! Thanks for the heads-up, my friend! I owe you one!
By the way, I'm sure you've heard of it, but a lot of writers call this technique 'Butt in the Chair'! *smile*
