Your repetition of the refrain makes your point so well of the repetition of the confession process over time and how things become so much more difficult and complex as time wears on and sins become bigger and more regular and mistakes are repeated right along with the confessions - the tone of despair and longing for simpler, more innocent times is most effectively conveyed

Your poem is wonderful. Beautifully written with a message that leaves one ponering about their own souls. I found no errors. Good job.

An interesting piece of writing that shows the progession from child to adult and how one can change. I like the question "where does that child go", it is a valid question we can ask ourselves.

Life is never as simple as when it began, but that is because we humans tend to complicate things. I really adored this poem. It is a gret piece of work.

Oh Michelle! Do we humans ever complicate things!!!! Thank you so much for your exceptional review. I am honored and humbled by your rating, but more importantly, I am thrilled that you appreciate my offering...diane

For me, this beautifully written piece is talking about the next generation and their disregard for that which is sacred and meaningful to parents and grandparents and God. They take it all so lightly.
The lines that especially struck at my heart were these:
Saturday morning
Mantilla is forsaken
Rosary is misplaced
Prayer book is rejected
His name is remembered
But only spoken now
In vain
In anger
In the quest to impress
Where did that child go?
Does she even remember?
Who forgives her now?
Does she even care?
Maybe future life experiences will bring our children to their senses.
