Keep daydreaming because this is a great story/poem. It keeps the reader enthralled all the way through. I remember our boys were part of the burial of the Red Baron. Honor among enemies. Well done!

Whenever someone mentions the Red Baron, I can't help thinking of the Peanuts character Snoopy and the sequence from one of the Peanut's TV specials.
I really enjoyed this. Good rhyme and meter and you tell your tale so well.
Take care

Wow! Daydream like this often?
An action packed tale cleverly crafted in poetic form.
A brilliant mix of action and description with rapid fire sequence as this incident unfolds in poetic form in mere seconds.
Hints at knowledge of aircraft and manoeuvres and captivating action.
Blessings

You just took me on quite a flight! A very fun read with great imagery. I admit that I'm happy Snoopy wasn't at the controls with the way this ended. Thanks for sharing.

This poem, Last Flight of the Red Baron, left out the World War I fighting ace, Snoopy the Dog. That is an historic name and carries an infamous reputation. Nice poem.

I think your piece captures the roiling emotions that the pilots must have felt as they went through the ups and downs of a dogfight. The plane lurching up and down, through barrel rolls and loop the loops, the stunning moment when the bullet hits the pilot in the face and he spirals down to his doom. They were the knights of the air. The story of Werner Voss is maybe even more dramatic. But I do think it might be better as a short story. estory

I enjoyed this creative and vivid poetic description of the British pilot's maneuvers, and the last fight of the Red Baron. You have written with great detail and imagination as you brought the last flight to life. Well done.

Keep on daydreaming, Harry. I like you lighthearted version of the Baron's death. You seem to have done some research on this. I am glad for all those who were saved from the Baron not being able to score. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful and exciting. This was so well done. I was right there watching this epic battle unfold. I dodged, I ducked. I felt the breeze rushing past my face. I cheered on the daring ace. However, I must admit, during the entire read, I could not help seeing my old friend, Charlie Brown's intrepid Ace, Snoopy.

In poetry there is always a pattern of meter. And either you rhyme or you do not. This has some rhyming and some free verse, there is no set syllable count either. Your story came the cleary but this was in spite of the writing. Go to a poetry club or go to the home icon and find poetry dances and see all the kinds of poetry there are. Go to the social icon and find a poetry club people there can help you. That's how I learned. Karen
