Nicely done, Roy. We had similar problems in The United States some years ago, but like you said, there can be many laws passed, but prejudice still remains.

It is a fine poem that describes men's failure to understand and the arrogance that our way or the highway. It is not a redeemable factor for humanity but always there is hope and people who like you have evolved and hopefully more will stand and be heard truly.

When they took the Bible from the school. The words in the meaning of Christmas, chopped down into, "Happy Holidays." Prayer. People do have the right to make choices. In my school, if you did not want to pray, you were asked to leave the room. As in pictures of God, if you do not believe, do not look, and move on. Thank you for the great poem. And, I love the picture of God's hand reaching out for those who believe.

Women still get less wages for the same job... Overall, women earn about 85 cents to every dollar a man makes. Some call that progress... It's incremental bias. Likewise for for race, sexuality, age...
In the USA our "One nation under God" managed to excluded both non-whites and women from voting for far too long...
The intersection between religion and politics is a car wreck...
You are correct. No amount of legislation can change human behavior. People love the neighbors that look like them, talk like them, love like them...
When the Bible ceases to be wielded as a weapon... When Hebrews 12:14 is heeded...
Then there is hope!

Thanks Karenina, Elaine as a teacher and faculty head had benefits the same as men, I think the discrepancy lies in style of work, there?s little to be done about that. Thanks for these great comments and review, blessings Roy

Perhaps where you are. Here, a woman doing the same job, with the same experience, is likely to be started at nearly 20% less salary. Even in "traditionally" female oriented position (a term I hate). For example, male nursing graduates, with zero experience are offered ICU and ER and Supervisory positions right out of school. Because they are male...
There is much that can and should be done about that...
-
There?s very few male nurses here, the women do better in the nursing profession, they should anyway, equality is not really about that.. Generally speaking aboriginals have a better deal here than whites, conscious I guess, they make us pay,
Yes, men and women are at war, which is exactly how the devil wants it, that?s why you feel the way you do. That drives division, chips on the shoulder will cause that. I?m on the side of justice. Whatever form that takes, but Please don?t drive me outside the gospel Karen.

I like the fifth stanza best. I think these lines sum up the theme of your poem perfectly. But I very much enjoyed the whole thing. As usual, your author notes provide the scriptural foundation for the truth on which your poem was based. A truly strong and meaningful poem and much enjoyed here. Thank you.

It is true that many people make quick judgements based on very little knowledge. I know the aboriginal people were treated very badly in the past too. A revealing write, love Dolly x

Hello Roy, thanks for sharing this thought provoking poem. I think many wrongs have been set right and for that I'm grateful. However, I see the pendulum swinging to the point that moral absolutes are no longer the case and it appears that in the name of equality, we are to accept behavior that is wicked, or be considered intolerable and racist, ect, ect. Of course if we were able to live by the golden rule, to love others as ourselves, then none of what we are experiencing would be happening.
Have a blessed day my friend.

I think that some people who still make not so smart decisions should learn from their mistakes. God put them to be good. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Thank you for sharing!

You are right, Roy. Laws/legislation can't/won't change/improve morality of anything. Man does what he does with his free will. Many times he (all) are taught a certain way/group/ individual/etc is of a lower class/ignorant/or worse. People always themselves to be swayed to easily. They tend to 'go with the flow' rather than their own convictions. Your poem is well thought out and presented. The rhymes and flow are smooth. You give readers much to think about.
Respectfully, Jan

Your poem was beautiful and well written. I enjoyed your author notes. Women had to fight for the right to vote, to not be abused, to not be abused by their husbands, etc. Our judicial system has gotten better but still has a long ways to go.
Thank you for sharing

This wasn?t an agenda issue, men have lost their manhood too, it?s not about gender issues, it?s about human prejudice, thanks Heather, it?s not about power shift, thanks Heather, blessings Roy
