Love your poem and the back story of the nativity for Lent. Lent is one of my favorite seasons. As a child we performed a live Nativity in front of our church for the community. My favorite part was playing the angel. . .a memory of my youth that I will forever cherish. So happy I could read this early in the season. Merry Christmas to you and yours. :)

The granddaughter evidently treasures the nativity scene. When she displays it on the shelf, I bet her idea is to cherish it the rest of her days with her close family members.

Roy I read that are Christians, fast before the Great Feast of the Nativity in order to prepare ourselves for the celebration of Our Lord's birth. As in the case of Great Lent, the Nativity .

I learned a lot by reading your poem by looking up, what is a Christmas lent. Thank you for sharing your poetic voice and tell me what is Christmas lent

Excellent

I think you mean Advent. Lent is the preparation for Easter, and Advent is the preparation for Christmas. We don't celebrate Christmas until Christmas day, and the twelve days after. What a lovely thing to have to pass on through generations, this wonderful knitted nativity scene. I know the work that went into that.
