Very nicely sums up my life. Three daughters raised, married off and six grandchildren. And, we are currently making final arrangements - we're feeling fine, but home to us now is often an RV a long way away, so we needed to organize that. Anyway, enjoyed your offering.

In my opinion, a stunning, yet plaintive write, one that captures the essence of life, as it relates to the foundation of our beings, warm and smoothly rendered, with just the right touch of sentimentality...

Heartwarming and poignant--whimsical touch with the parenthetical threat--vivid imagery--I can see the jelly smeared on a erstwhile-white walls and see scuff-marks on the sofa.

I really love that you created a poem that follows the idea chronologically through an entire lifetime. That gives this piece an extra quality that many do not possess. Fantastic piece

Amen. My dad used to say, "you go to bed young and wake up old." Home is where the heart is my friend. I liked your poem very much and could well relate to it. We are at the place on our journey to our real home. Blessings, Kay xx

A beautiful summary of life and its experiences, condensed well into key things, those things that matter to us, mostly relationships, and love, with sufficient food and shelter. Well written.

A very well-written poem about the best place on earth to be is at your home. Even when it is holiday I prefer my home above paying to sleep uncomfortable for days and having take aways for every meal.

Hello Linda,
You've written a wonderful poem as you take us through
the many stage of life and growth when children grow and
leave to form their own home. But always they return to
see grandma.
Your free verse reads beautifully with a few rhymes included.
I'll take some of that wine and chocolate on a snowy night.
Six stars to shine over your home.
