Cupid makes mistakes at times, but I see he aimed well with your love match Yvette! Opposites attract they say! A fun and warm hearted acrostic, a joy to read, love Dolly x

Aw, I love this, especially since it seems to be about you and your loving husband. How funny that you are not alike, but sometimes it's true that opposites attract. I commend you on writing a V-Day poem that is both humorous and touching :))

Awww! But they always say that "opposites attract." (I'm probably the umteenth reviewer that said that.) Fun rhyming acrostic which explains this very common phenomenon. Congrats on the 30 years!

Stupid Cupid apparently knew what he was doing. I love the originality of your Valentine Poem. No mushy valentine poem for either of us. Yours is delightfully humorous. And sweetly clever.
Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day. I bet lots of people brought cake and candy to the teacher workroom. Hope you enjoyed your share.

Must be something about really smart women, hey MQ? :) :) So glad you enjoyed the 'non-romance' -- knew at least you would appreciate it!! ;) ;) I can write romance, but I am definitely NOT romantic....LOL! ;) ;) Take care down there and have a great weekend! ;) ;)
Comment from Janice Canerdy
This is a very well-written acrostic love poem. I like the non-flowery
approach you took, the wryly humorous tone. The love comes through,
though, in your effective blend of literal and figurative language.

LOL! Thanx so much for dropping by Janice, and I'm so glad you enjoyed my 'non-romantic' offering here! ;) I can write romance and instruct it, but so far as being a romantic myself....? Nope...just not. :) ;) ;) Take care and have a wonderful weekend! ;) Yvette :)

This is so cute and fun....and true in many cases. My husband and I have been married 50 years even though we have little in common. But the love is there and that's what holds us together.
I'm sure you poem relates to many a marriage.
Good luck in the contest.

I so hear that Yvette!!! I feel that way all the time. My boyfriend and I are such polar opposites that I wonder how we came to be, but I love him and he loves me. ð???

Hooray! ;) So glad you enjoyed my 'non-romantic' offering here, Susan -- I catch flak for that, you know! ;) ;) And the love will get you through the tough times if you just hold tight to it.....if ever comes a day when David and I agree on too many things, I'll know either one of us has completely lost our marbles or something else is afoot! :) LOL! :) Take care! ;) Yvette

Congrats on thirty years of marriage. You are right the most important thing in having a successful marriage is that you love each other. Good luck in the contest. Patricia

This is the cutest cupid so far on this lovely dovey day. Your verse just tickles me. I actually prefer men I can spar with. A man with a mind of his own who won't go all gushy on me. Sounds like you got one for yourself. It is a llllllloooooonnnnhgggg life if some man is "yes, dear" ing you all the time. Really love this so much!!
