I enjoyed your ode poem. Good job with the prompt. Your syllable count is good. I see no changes. Best wishes in the contest.

This five - seven - five ode, Year Review, does exactly as it is advertised, as well as throwing in a good thought for 2016. Happy day.

Yes, these short poems have to be short but sweet or to the point for sure. I think you hit the nail on the head. Well written. I wish you luck in the contest.

Two-thousand, fifteen.
Good Year. All went well. Sense self.
Hoping for better.
Well done!
Ah yes, I completely agree with everything written here, including the notes which say short, sweet and to the point LOL. Now I only have one thing more to say:
Best wishes in the contest, and oh, Happy New Year as well :)
Blessings,
Anabella

Some had a good year and others have more bad than good and will feel different about the past year, but we all see forward to a better new year. Good luck with the contest.

You've written a excellent 5-7-5 poem
Perfect positive review of 2015,
hopefully most can say the same thing
in their personal lives
Understanding oneself is the first step
in a better future
Hope you have an even better, fuller new year
Well done

-Another good topic with a good format.
-Your second line says a lot with a few words.
-I am glad 2015 was a good year for you.
-It sounds like there was a lot of growth and learning about yourself.
-Hope 2016 is a very good year, too.

Me too, poet. Tired of hearing woes about Muslims killing innocent people. Lawlessness black hating those who try and keep the peace. Best to you in the contest.

Thank you for the kind words. I am the spouse of a corrections officer and many of my immediate family members have served our great country faithfully. I appreciate your response. The best of luck to you and yours in the new year.

I am a vet too. My daughter is a parole officer, her husband was hurt in line of duty after 18 years on the force. Disabled now so I total understand. Have a great 2016.

It wasn't a good year for me, but I am so pleased it was for you. This is a great idea for this particular contest, and timely too. Well written. Good luck! :) Sandra

Your author's notes said it better than my meager comments ever could. Indeed, 2015 was a good and productive year. The greater wish is that 2016 will prove to be a much more productive year, providing and even higher level of understanding, compassion for the less fortunate, and a forgiveness for those who attempt to mask their lack of talent by launching unfair criticism at their more gifted brethren.
