Your short poem is cleverly written. I enjoyed reading it and it flows well with wit. Your artwork choice is well chosen. It makes me think of winter and that's the point right!

Hi ...
I really enjoyed this! In so few words, you summed winter up pretty danged good. My wife grew up in the South and hates anything below 45 degrees. I grew up in Missouri ... lots of winter there!
I enjoyed this a lot! Good luck in the contest ...

A pleasant little verse. The last line is particularly striking. It is difficult to compose a haiku with a message, you have managed to do this. well written.

Thank you, it is more of a 5/7/5 than a haiku. I really appreciate your excellent review. :)

I love winter too, although we don't really get much of a winter where I live. We do get a few weeks of cold and sometimes even a freeze. This was a great tribute to a season most people hate.

First of all, Let me say, I completely agree with the sentiment here
(not that it's a prerequisite!) lol
But I do!
Also, the photograph is exquisite! A lovely choice.
I love winter cold!
(The exclamation mark after cold shows excitement for the season)
frozen lakes and silver sky
( wonder if the 'F" in frozen should be capitalized because it follows the punctuation from the line before, but no worries... The imagery is lovely on this line...the reflection of a frozen lake to a silver sky)
the shy sunrays hide
(I love the personification of the sunrays to a shy person... making them hide)
Well done! And good luck in the contest!

A very good entry into the contest ode to Winter. You have all syllables correct. The image goes well with your poem. The sun looks shy just peeping above the horizon.
Good luck in the contest. Mary

A nice ode. You like the chill in the air of winter and the way the sunshine isn't as noticeable as in other seasons. Your syllable count it perfect too.
