I really liked this poem. It was a creative idea to count down the tufts of seeds on the dandelion, and I especially loved the uses of pictures and background colors. All in all, the poem was very pleasing to all the senses.

This one touched my heart, because I know how much Brooke will cherish it. The pictures really brings your words alive and it's all done in one of Brooke's styles of writing. I think it should go on the first page of the book. This is an exceptional poem written for an exceptional person. Bill

Thanks, Bill. I'm pleased you think so highly of this poem. I worked on it for almost three days with very little sleep to try to get it as close to Brooke's amazing style as I could. While I realize I'm nowhere close, my wish is that it will warm Brooke's heart and extend to her the powers of healing through friendship, love and our collective prayers for a full recovery.
Thanks very much for your exemplary comments and exceptional six star rating. All are greatly appreciated, as always.

Our poet shows great courage in emulating another great poet and not challenging her. She would be the first to acknowledge this. She once told me that she wrote even about the lowly weeds In her garden and I told her that weeds are simply the wrong plant in the wrong place. So she indulged me, my facetiousness. One thing is for sure, she lives for her poetry and we can draw courage from it. -Ekim

This is a great counting poem and one of Brooke's favourites which I love reading. I did not know Brooke was ill. She is my great friend and I too wish her speedy recovery but I didn't know she was ill. Well done, Dean, for that great tribute.

Yes, she has an advanced stage of MS, I've been told, Rod. I think you echo the sentiments of all of us here. Brooke is indeed a very caring and giving person, not to mention an amazingly talented poet. Her reviews and uplifting poetry always have the ability to brighten even my darkest days, and I miss her.
Thanks so much for your review. ~Dean

Hmm, Dean, I think you're getting addicted these fuzzy heart felt poems. In these case I would agree. This is really a wonderful poem, filled with one of Brooke's favorite things. I always loved her poems about dandelions, because I always agreed that though the are weeds, they are so cheerful checkered on a dull lawn of solid green. A wonderful poem and here's to Brooke's speedy recovery.

Thanks, Bill, but it nearly killed me to write something nice, and sweet. If it weren't for Brooke having been to me as good as she has, well, I would'a written one of my usual sorts of poems for her. But, as we all know, she's a wonderful lady, and we all wish her the very best.
Thanks a bunch for your review.

Brooke's counting poems were her specialty IMO. But there's no way one would mistake your style for her. :-) I love how each seed found happiness, not just disappear. This echoes our feelings for dear Brooke. She'll see that last glowing seed and be back in no time. Beautifully done.

Brooke (adewpearl) has been around FanStory since the sites inception, in 2001, I think, Echo. She's one heck of a poet, and a dear friend to so many here. Her countdown poems are one of her trademarks, and while my own doesn't come anywhere close to hers, I do hope it helps to brighten up her day.
