Sneak into the pig pen and coat yourself with mud. Or you could sit all day under a water fall if you could find one. This is very well written with a humorous overtone.

Thanks, Charlie.
I think our friend the armadillo prefers pussy to mud or a cold shower.

Thanks for entering, mystery writer.
Perfect limerick meter and imaginative rhymes.
Abbreviations to meet meter often look clumsy, but 'frigerating' works fine here.
Good 'p' alliteration throughout.
Just enough funny naughtiness without going over the top.
Excellent.
Good luck and best wishes, Ray

Thanks, Ray.
I must have been too subtle - you are one of the few to spot any naughtiness. perhaps I should have replaced that 'frigerating with fornicating.
-
'subtle' doesn't always work on here, unfortunately.
Some doughnuts have to be smacked in the face with an obvious wet kipper. :-(
-
or a wet beaver in this case

Ha ha! Well, that armadillo certainly had the right idea! (LOL)
Very well done, and I wish you the very best of luck in the contest.

You did a wonderful job with this limerick. I could almost see the armadillo resting it's head on a bed of pussy willows. they are soft looking. Though it would be strange to see how he positioned himself around that large, hard protective shell. Good luck in the contest. I believe you accomplished showing the humor in this limerick.

Thanks, Lindal.
perhaps the 'pussy' willow would feel nice on the armadillo's soft underbelly...
-
Makes sense.

A fine example of the form with perfect rhythm and rhyme and just the faintest touch of innuendo at the end. Much enjoyed. Good luck in this contest. It is bringing some most entertaining limericks out of the woodwork!

Thanks, Tony.
Too faint with the innuendo I fear - most didn't get it and rude and crude seems to be winning!

This is hysterical. I once drove for four days through Oaklahoma looking for armadilloes having never seen one before....alas I didnt see a single one. This made me laugh!

Thanks. We have done the same thing in North Queensland, Australia, looking for the elusive cassowary.

Well, it's like a limerick. And an armadillo is like an
animal. Sounds good to me. They say they are widening their range into my home area, and they are edible. We'll see.

Check out whether you have any 'pussy' willows around there, then catch them unawares!
Thanks for reviewing.

Unless "plump pussy willow" has a second meaning, this reads fine but makes little sense. I just cannot fetch up a visual of an armadillo resting on a pussy willow, hot ot cold.

Thanks. where would a limerick be without double meanings - maybe if you put hot and pussy together...
