No, it would not have mattered if you were 'the gay guys'. Some people just can't be reached. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and this story is very well written.

Thank You Very Much! Terry.

This is a well-written story, Terry, with a hilarious ending. It's hard to believe these days how so many things were presumed to be signs of a man being gay. As you've shown here, an interest in fine art was one of them. Thanks for sharing.

'Finding Andy Warhol ' , is an extremely well-written and entertaining piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. Good luck with the contest. Please let me know how you get on?

Enjoyed this one Terry. But, I am still wandering. Why did the manager say, bought for his lover, unless the buyer had said who he was buying it for? Even if too men came in to buy it, wouldn't it have been stretched for someone selling to say one bought it for their lover? Was anything said at he time to trigger that? Either the first time, or on the actual purchase?
Unless of course, it was concluded by the sellers that only Gay was connected to Andy Warhol, or would want such...even citing the image itself of a possible que to that stupid judgment. Just curious what would have triggered such an idiotic and personal thought from the seller.
By the way, still don't know, who the picture was bought for...and who bought it, as you said you only went in to ask a few questions.
You should end up writing a 'who dun it' about this picture, because I am still wondering who bought it, or has it.
Terrific reading, though, I would like some closure....simply because I enjoyed the read, be it subtle.
Bravo.
My best Terry.
Have a great New Year,
carry on the good writing.
Best wishes.

Thank you for reading. I don't know why the manager of the mall thought I was buying the artwork for "my younger lover." I may have said this will be a surprise, meaning for my wife, and he it took it the other way. I did negotiate a price and did take it home. My wife died three years ago. I still have the artwork and my will provides that it goes to my friend Kirby. It's his story as much as mine. Hope this answers your questions. Terry.

Great Terry. I worthy post. Best wishes.

I don't know why the mall guy thought I bought it for a lover. I did buy it, in 1995 for my wife Zoe. I still have it in my condo. Zoe died three years ago, and the artwork goes to Kirby when I die. The picture of the artwork is from my Iphone.

What a treasure piece Terry. I am Jealous, I love art. I just looked at the picture closely...and your friendship cemented in passing it on to a good friend. That is an excellent gesture, and mark of a good person. My best wishes.

Hilarious--someone with a lesser sense of humor might classify this as funny, not funny. So true as to stereotypes--same type of scene in the movie Meet the Fockers. Great piece!

Hilarious. I loved this story. These things happen. I was intrigued by the title and was enjoying the acquisition of some art. Then the surprise. Hello Kitty! Well done.

An excellent little story that contains a lesson as well. We need to avoid jumping to conclusions always. I thought you told this story in a truly winning way. It was interesting and built to a suitable climax and resolution. I enjoyed it very much.
Best of luck in the contest.

Hehehehe, I hope there was no hard feelings between Kirby and you. Not about the gay thing, I mean, but that you bought the artwork. It's a great flash story for the contest, and I hope it will do well. It's a great story. Ulla:)))
