Beautiful as always. I love the repetitive lines about prayer. So full of faith and hope. I, too , am thankful to have nature right outside my door. Both woods and lake. And an occasional deer. Love the picture.

Hi Diane, I loved your poem and with its wonderful imagery. So many of your images point towards what was to come. Spain, as well, went into its first lock down, exactly a year ago today. Little did we know what was to come.
Also, congratulation with your second place in the haibun contest. Ulla:)))

Hello Stu!
So pleased you stopped by and my offering resonated with you.
This poem began as a Kyrielle, and then it took on a life of its own.
I really enjoyed penning this one.
Much appreciation for your kind words!

That is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your walk to familiar places and the prayers you pray on your journey. So thankful that the Lord hears our prayers, no matter where we are. I love your ending:
"In time, I shall return again.
God's treasured gifts, I yearn to share,
For in truth, they can mend life's pain;
With each path, a healing prayer..."

Thank you, Anne, for your exceptional rating and complimentary review.
I do not write often of my faith, so to speak, but I know it is interspersed in many of my writings - usually in tandem with my love and respect for nature. As I wrote this offering, I realized, again, how I often go about my days expressing in thought what many would call prayer. I also realized that I've been doing that since I was just a little girl... Just part of who I am...
Thank you again!

You are very welcome. I talk to the Lord all through my day, feel like His presence is with me and I can tell Him anything. As people come into my mind, I lift a prayer for them. I just posted a poem for the Talk With God contest.

That's what I was saying, only I wasn't really cognizant of it... And I've been doing it all my life... :)

You seem to have gone up a wonderful path that throws open God's precious gifts to mankind. Life is a journey with a lot of different paths and we should pray to Him to lead us to the right path. Enjoyed your wonderfully written poem. Thanks for sharing!

Your poem is so uplifting, so positive as it focuses on the one thing that absolutely heals every time, and that is nature.
I believe if more people had access to nature, there would be fewer depressed, distressed, hopeless, uninspired people. We need to rediscover our attachment to the flora and fauna we are blessed with. All children need a Miller's Pond where they can observe and interact with robins, turtles, deer, and any other creatures that may wander about.
The world would be healthier.

Hello muffinmama!
So very pleased my offering resonated with you!
Nature keeps me sane!
I remember my mother asking me when our children were young, "Do you realize how lucky you are to live here?" I cherish those words... And I have always appreciated that we found our way here...
Thank you so much!

We live on a moshav (a type of cooperative agricultural community of individual farms, though hardly anyone still farms on our particular moshav), and we have loads of land for our grandchildren to run around and play and visit the chickens next door and do an outing into the fields and woods outside of the moshav. When corona first broke out, my daughter and her family were living in Tel Aviv. We persuaded them to come and live with us until corona passed. After 2 months and no end in sight, they rented a house here near us. This freedom to be outside and playing with animals and flowers saved these children. I agonized over the poor kids stuck in cities.

This is a beautiful tribute to spring and ultomately, to our Creator. The gifts we see around us - if we take the time - deserve our appreciation and thanks. No matter how badly things might be going in our lives, if we take a breath and look at nature, we will be strenghtened and refreshed to continue on - with a more positive attitude.

Miller's Pond seems like the perfect place to gain solace from being locked down. Your walk certainly allowed you to enjoy Spring's offerings, see wildlife. and commune with God. I feel I shared your walk vicariously. Rod

We have nothing like this within walking distance of us. But we have a lovely park.

Head to the park, Rod! :)
We live high on a bluff on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, MI. Years ago, I remember a sibling remarking to me how she could never imagine living where we live, for it would be so depressing to not be able to be a part of city life...
Yup.
So it goes.
I've no regrets. Oh... and we even have indoor plumbing... :) :) :)
