I ike the positive message you were able to get across in just 25 syllables. A lot of these short poems lose their message or aren' long enough to convey it. You did a really nice job.

I like the sentiments you've expressed here, DR ALCREATOR. It feels good to give, and we shouldn't expect anything in return, but just be happy in the act of giving.
Very nice! Best wishes for the contest with this little gem.
Cheers,
Connie

I really loved your poem and I wish you luck in the contest. Your words as always are strung together with expert care and affection. I agree that to give is to receive. Always be kind and walk a mile in the other persons shoes. Never judge, you never know what is going on in that persons life. Be true to myself. PM

Never give more than you can afford to lose, because gratitude is a lost trait in homo sapiens...another hairy prompt, twenty five syllables in only fifteen words...excellent job.

There are plenty of old songs that encourage us to "put on a happy face" or "smile when your heart is breaking," or "don't worry, be happy." Many of us may feel a little confused about why we are always encouraging people to "lie" to themselves.
Actually, there is a Zen koan or budhist saying that states simply, "Practice smiling while peeling carrots." My yoga instructor always encourages us to smile during the most difficult poses. She asks the question, "Are you smiling because you are happy or are you happy because you are smiling?"
She was on to something important.
Being able to offer a sunny disposition to the world, regardless of your inner state, actually encourages you to physically feel better!THIS is to me the secret to happiness...smile and the world smiles with you...a great write kind regards Meia xx

You are a wise man. You have laid out the way to happiness. You don't have to give material goods. You can give time. You can give support. The not expecting anything in return usually returns happiness to you tenfold. Good job.

That's a very wise seer, but as humans we don't always follow his recommendations. We often give expecting something in return, even if it's just the satisfaction of feeling proud of ourselves.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

I completelly agree with you in this, as I#ve done in may others of your spiritual and philosophical poem, Alcreator. There is so much joy in giving, not just giving physical things but also giving other things like your time, your care, your love and so on. Even trust is something we give, even at the risk of giving it to the wrong person.

Truer words have never been spoken. It's probably a hard concept for many, but once you actually do it, happiness will come for sure. Great piece! I love it!
