And what a doppelgänger! This is a fun, dark poem about cannables. It is also a story about seduction and given into ones dark desires. Your words are well chosen to convey a haunting mood of obsession. Thank you for sharing and scaring.

Luna I am not much for the dark side but you my friend manage to put a little light on the darkness, I read your present mindset with a attitude of a miner searching for gold, the end of a rainbow LOL, if I don't find the meaning I always have a smile because I know there is something there, HAPPY HOLIDAYS

The eating a heart part is kind of scary. And when the heart continues beating, it's even worse. I'm going to have nightmares tonight.
This is indeed different and unique. Kudos!

Hey, Jeni,
This one feels like something ol' Dean Kuch would have written, (high praise). Your dark imagery flies off the page leaving the reader in a state of shock with its thought of eating the brains of loved ones....brrrr!
Still, I appreciate your insights into this subject along with your solid delivery of this thought...well done.
And, without the darkness, we wouldn't be able to appreciate the light, so...
Happy Holidays to you and your family,
Bill

Excellent. Something sure took you over, this is kind of gross. I must confess that I found it interesting and fun to read, though. It is sure the dark side. Good work.

A great Christmas poem. I'll tell it to the kids as we roast chestnuts this evening. I'll tell them it's a true story. it's told every year at this season.

Certainly on the dark side and suitably gruesome. The idea of eating out the hearts of family while they are still living makes one think. Metaphorically this does seem to happen in some families, especially just around Christmas when they are all thrown together for a bit!

I was thinking your poetic inclination was swinging off a little to the left opposed to the right. But as your poetic crafting is always leaning toward the eloquent side of creativity, I found this to be just as attractive as your other posts, albeit self indulgent, but well done, your abilities are very captivating, Jeni,, blessings, Roy,

YUK! Where did this one come from?? LOL, you go everywhere with your poetry, Jeni, no bars in your way! I loved Hannibal, lol, the book version was better than the film. Well done, I think you are giving Dean a run for his money now! :) Sandra xxx
