Oh, Karen, this is an absolutely stunning thought to Brooke and her family. She is such an inspiration and beacon in the night to so many of us. I likely wouldn't even still be on FanStory if it weren't for Brooke. What makes her so kind, generous and dedicated I don't know, but she is. I model my behaviour on hers, but I have a long way to go to even come close. But, I'm still aiming for her lofty heights.

Thanks, Gloria. I too have tried to learn from her example and I think there is no better way for us to honor her. So let's keep on keeping on and make her proud.

Her daughter posted that she has been diagnosed with aggressive MS.
and can't stay by herself so in a nursing home rehab, I think.
They first thought she had a stroke. A sad situation for sure.

Beautifully written free verse, Karen, and a lovely tribute to Brooke. I recall Gungalo as being my very first reviewer, and Brooke was in there close behind. Both were very encouraging and, like you, they gave me the confidence to keep trying my hand at poetry, despite my rather morbid topics.
Brooke is truly missed around here, and I echo your heartfelt sentiments for her complete and speedy recovery. A wonderful tribute to one of FanStory's best.

Love your free verse form and you mention dandelions, which is what I think of when I think of Brooke. She is one of my favorite poets here on Fanstory and I was wondering what happened to her. I hope she is okay and gets well soon.

I'm sure Brooke will be 'blown away' with this wonderful poem. None of us can believe how quickly, and expectedly she has been struck down by this crippling disease. This is yet another testimony to how she is admired and respected here.
