Hi Dean,

Very nasty. Very nasty indeed. Poor little Buttons, he didn't deserve that fate, but then nasties under the bed never consider being nice.

No, Patrick, and they rarely ever do, do they?

Thanks so much for your review. ~Dean

No, most are not like the hero in Monsters Inc. I hope you'll take a look at the Count's latest, addressed to your alter ego, General Secretary of the Kennel Club.

Hi Dean,

Very nicely done indeed.
Anyone can have an idea its in the ...execution of it, that the fun is! A great spin and fantastically presented as usual. I love the closing picture in particular.

Excellent.

Dean...this is just down-right nasty and could creep into X-rated with a few choice sentences. Yuck! But then again you do the yuck factor superbly. Ruined my poem afterglow. Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Guess that was the reaction you were aiming for.

Well, actually, yes, Ingrid, LOL. This story was conveyed to be by girrafmang (Gareth), a fellow member here. You may or may not have read his work. I simply put my own unique spin to it.

    Thanks for the review...I think? Heh-heh... ~Dean

Short and sweet story with a surprise twist at the end which explains the fate of Buttons. The monster got the dog and is about to get her. How awful that March ill get it too. Well done, Dean.

OHOHOHOH next time I have to go to the bathroom, I'll think of you and cringe.
Absolutely wonderful.
Such a short piece and the master of gore has done it again.
Very good and a wonderful setting to accompany it.

Thanks for reading, it, Barbara. I'm really happy that you enjoyed it. Well, maybe enjoyed" is the wrong word to use in this instance, heh-heh...

I almost screamed, and I could not find the music. I loved all the pictures. The short story s certainly scary. The girl found her dog in the bathroom, scattered all over the place.

Yeah, poor kid. My biggest concern now is what's going to happen to the child now? Food for thought...and for things under the bed, LOL.

Thanks for your review, Ine. Have a super day! ;) ~Dean

I hate to think of what was licking Marcy's hand. No doubt that tongue was like sandpaper- and it ain't no cat that unbuttoned Buttons all over the bathroom. Grusome and excellent flash fiction.

Thank you, Ed. All the credit for this tail of terror goes out to Gareth (giraffmang). He and his lovely wife kindly provided me with the idea. I simply put my spin on the story. No, I doubt that any feline felons were responsible. Poor Buttons, but worse yet, poor Marcy! Thanks a bunch for the review. :} ~Dean

Well being a dog lover, Dean, it doesn't exactly fill full of joy to read this, but I support you and I like to support my friends, I love dogs, but I must admit it's very clever, the licking thing under the bed, very clever blessings, Roy.

Well, Roy, as my author's notes state, the idea was sent to me by our fellow member, giraffmang...in my defense. He and his lovely wife supplied me with the inspiration. I simply put my spin on the story. I'm an owner of three small pooches myself, and an avid lover of doggies.

    Thanks for reading... :) ~Dean

It's ok Dean, I don't mean to be critical, my apologies. Blessings, Roy.

No worries, mate. I didn't think you were being critical in the slightest. ;)

Thanks Dean, I know you're a good bloke, and a darn good writer, Roy.
reply by the author on 30-Mar-2015
Why are the author's notes so rarely read here? You can learn some insight into a poem or a story by simply by reading the author's notes. Yet, they are often ignored. After all, that's what they're there for. I read yours-- the scriptures that often accompany your posts -- each & every time you post your work...

    Just sayin'. ;)

    Thanks, Roy, so are you, my friend. :}

I did read GMG. Was the inspiration I always ( well usually) i appreciate the notes, I'm not like some, who complain if you put them there, some things I write they'd never understand anyway. Dean,

    I hear that, Roy!

I wasn't referring to you specifically, but to members here in general. So many who've read this thus far think that it was my own idea, but it isn't. I've enlisted help from the good people here to send me ideas for this series, if they want it to continue. Gareth kindly sent me this one. :)

Hi Dean, I wouldn't mind betting my last pound that you've upset a few dog lovers on here hehehe! Great story greatly enhanced by the haunting music and voice at the outset, is there nothing sacred to you LOL.

Absolutely nothing, Eric, heh-heh. However, in my defense, and as my author's notes state, this tail...e-r-r-r-r-r, heh-heh...tale was sent to me by fellow member, girrafmang. It was his idea, I just wrote it.

    Thanks for the review. I'm a dog-lover myself. :} ~Dean

Excellent Dean!, This gave me goosebumps. The pictures bring your words to life and especially the creepy message along with your detailed account of what's all over the walls. I think I will sleep with the light on tonight. Thanks for sharing Stephanie
