I love the picture. They are cute goats. But they are escape artists. They love to roam,, It is in the DNA. My first husband father found a way to keep them in check. He hobbled three goats together. Goats are very independent. They could never agree to an escape plan. Great work.

Great poem. It was a pleasure to read, and it really made me smile. I do hope the goats are not shot, or blown up in the land mines. I love the serious undertone as well!

Your speaking of war in comedy. Dead goats, dead flowers sounds kind of serious to me. :D

This verse kept me reading interestedly to the end. The rhyme and miter were excellent right through and kept the flow of reading at a nice easy pace. The short story was excellent and I did think that this was funny and also a very fine read. Good luck with the contest. ok.

Yes, I do have a plan to submit a few of my poems with a similar humorous feel to them to a suitable 'lifestyle block' magazine.

Contending with goats can be a handful. Good humor in a bad situation. That's what you were aiming for and what you accomplished. The rhythm is very good to go with a humorous poem like this. A good read.
