Your concise poem is profoundly meaningful and skillfully-written. Yes, there is indeed a major difference in Mother Nature and human mothers. Most of us have limits!

adewpearl--I love the duality of this short presentation:
first, readers are shown through apt personification how
"mother" nature provide humanity unlimited endowments even
though we through greed, neglect, waste and abuse mistreat
her. Secondly, scribe also gives us a very sage cautionary
message: at the rate we are making unrelenting demands on
our "mother" nature, she may one day, instead of answering
in the affirmative, say NO! Empathic title, allegoric
illustration and sober verbiage is right on the money.
Thanks for the reminder that provides us another Thanks-
giving.

This is a profoundly powerful voice. It has a deep and very real meaning. Mankind should heed mother nature... But the real issue here is the vast number of people upon the earth. Mother Nature cannot cope... Decline is coming.

Hi Brooke,

You have written a poem I hope many read. We have abused and misused this earth that was given to us to care for. You have used great words to express the theme of this marvelous poem. Well done....blessings, chey

The metaphor of Mother Earth eventually calling her children to task for their excesses is so apt for Earth Day. I'm afreaid there a bunch of us problem children. Love, Jeanie

As always, you write with a special
zeal and flourish where your words
commentaries on life all around us
are not stated in rants, but rather
in graceful words that sway in the
breezes and sing a song for all to
listen to.
Well done

This is absolutely brilliant and I agree with every word. We are taking our mother Earth for granted. We take and take and destroy and sooner or later there will be nothing left. Wonderful read, perfect for the Earth Day. Well done :)

I wish we would get with the program and live green. Our grandchildren are going to live on concrete in murky air. I wish Earth Day would be every day. Great lament, Brooke~Debbie

Well then we will just genetically alter everything so we can keep it coming. Scary. This is well done. We need less greed and more care.
