This poem left me feeling a little purple, just like the official FS colors.

The background is dark, making it difficult to read. I"m going to need and upgrade to quadruple focal glasses with built in lights.

After various types of love are enumerated, the poet states that the universe is a a mere drop in the all-that-is DOT DOT DOT Time and Space are so far beyond the heart, unimportant death with never, ever part.

But that seems to rule out important deaths. So the moral of the story is remain incognito and no one will try to get rid of you.

Cheers,
DW
GL with the contest.

good lord! you definitely need quad focals dear because I have no difficulty reading it at all! and no! death itself becomes unimportant in your third love - you funny man - better stay incognito before I knock you off myself!

Interesting poem. I'm not sure who each of these stanza's is talking about, but there is truth to each and every one. I had to knock you down for one misspelling though.

, defenceless(defenseless)

sorry dear - depends which country you live in - defenceless is just fine in Australia and England - it's only yankees who can't spell - so no "knocking down" if you don't mind! first stanza is about mother/child love, 2nd spouse, 3rd God ...

A beautifully thoughtful look at maternal love, romantic love and agape love. I like the parallel construction of your three stanzas and the genuine expression of appreciation for the role love plays in our lives :-) Brooke

Some wonderful thoughts on the true depth of love and it's many qualities. I enjoyed reading your free versr style that has a wonderful that gives a stronger emphasis on your thoughts. Thoughts that I think are best expressed in free style as opposed to forcing them into a rhyme. Great images that really express the extent of love. This makes for anexcellnet entry in the contest and good luck.

I like how you showed three different aspects of love and described so well the way each serves. There is a need and a place for each of the different kinds of love. I found quite a bit of internal thyme in your lines, which is not common in free verse, but still quite pleasant to read. This was a very good response to this prompt. Best wishes to you from MM.

I always write with internal rhyme MissM - as I write to have the pieces vocally performed, I find it helps zip the lines along - thx so much! :)

Excellent thought provoking work. Love is so romanticised that most of us faily to realise that not all love is two way traffic.

The free verse makes for a entertaining and pacy read

You've done an excellent job in differentiating the three faces of love. "that gossamer thread of connection always runs, implanted deep, from heart to heart" is so inspiring and true in the mother/child relationship. Well done and I wish you the best in the contest.

This is a very classy definition of love. The love of a mother, the love between spouses and love of humanity. Of course I would have spoken specifically of love of God, but this is not my poem. I love your use of certain words that are melodic such as aspire - a'fire and from heart to heart till death do part. I love that. This is a really well written and well conceived poem, congratulations of your achievement.
