We'll do just about anything to please those children of ours. The poor cat turned the camper into a morgue for the winter. Children are priceless. I'm with you. I don't think I could have handled eating anything out of that freezer, if I'd know there was a dead cat in there.

The kids didn't want to camp in the campper and I surely didn't want a dead cat in my freezer...Thanks...Carol

This was quaint. Yep father's shouldn't just say things. Little ears hear them. I liked all the reasoning and your internal dialogue and conflict in this essay. The little one was developed well.
Okay, so you sold the morgue and bought a camper. Good idea. lol.
Well written. luv jada

Yes, out of the mouth of babes. That's adorable, Carol. What a comedy of events. I love it when they come up with their own words, too. My Karen used to call freckles, muckles and a merry-g-round was a ming-a-moke. My husband's father said "Hangaberger" and "hip-po-mo-pot-a-mus" until the day he died. We didn't dare tease him about it either, just had to ignore it.
Wonderful story. Course, that's not a surprise. Haven't seen one of yours that I didn't like. For heaven's sake, just keep writing and keep us fed, pat

An excellent yarn, Begin Again. Your characters are realistic, your plot complications believable -- although a weird convolution in my brain wanted them to forget all about kitty until Summer!
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Exquisite logic little Corrie has about freezing the cat next to the meat.
"The camper. Yeah, we could put her in one of those plastic boxes in the closet." [I suggest you somehow let the reader know how cold it would be in the camper from winter to spring. I'm from California. I'm thinking of stinking cat when you open the camper door some spring day! Just a thought.
Thanks for your posting.

Too cute, I can see her now standing there thinking he had done the awful deed. Poor daddy. I love these little kid stories, don't you. A right nice slice of everyday life.

This one made me laugh. I really liked the emergency of the situation, form line one we were in the middle of the problem. And their leap in logic - that the camper is now a morgue, that's hysterical

Well, I thank you for the kind response to this silly little story. Yes, my youngest daughter (about to graduate as a vet tech) certainly loved animals even when she was small...Thank you for the kind review....Carol

What a lovely story. I was smiling all the way through. Those kids are smart! Don't they. Mom and dad can't get away with anything. It left me with a smile in my heart!
