Good stuff here I read that verse almost every day of my life because I know I'm most prone to be that way I also keep in mind Jesus' words, " forgive and you will be forgiven" what can I say excellent malachi1206

Words that could be from Jesus flowing through your pen. He, too, must have felt the pain about which you write as He looked down at mockers and scoffers. I believe I got one of those "spiritual prompts" recently when I looked at someone with judgment. I think I was quietly told, "You know what he is, but you do not know who he is." I wish you the best in this contest. I hope it becomes an ongoing one.

Wow, I love what you were told.I will remember that!
Not too long ago, I heard, "She hurts" when I began to judge a woman by her demeaner and attitude as I saw it.

I can't do it. Write verse with such long lines - I am envious. We all live in glass house ... Good writing with nice rhyming and beat.
Well done
Cheers

This is great writing Jewell, you know how to open friend, your first line was brilliant, it pulled me in straight away, it's been a very long time since I read the bible, very long, but I have read it[King James], you wrote a refined offering and I wish you well in the contest. Amazing artwork, very emotional.

This is a very good poem and good references from the bible.
Many are quick to judge these days when they themselves have much they are hiding.
You did a very good job with this poem, sending out a good message. Great job

You are very welcome. You write some good spiritual poetry. I write a fair amount of spiritual poetry, but lately I have been doing more romantic and friendship poems, kind of goes in stages I guess. Be good

Mine goes in stages too. sometimes i just need to write something from a dream world, which is usually romantic. Go figure. Check out, "Awakened By a DAy Dream" a recent post.

A brilliant exploration of this theme with didactic flavor and deep caring.
Very well timed and rhymed. Good flow and strong message!
I agree with all your fine points!

Not sure if you need the comma in this line:
My mind is ever pondering, the judgment to expect.

Favorite lines-

The proud self righteous army kicks the wounded down,
then walks away in judgment wearing selfish ugly frowns.

One cannot lift burdens while their heart is wrapped in chains.
Haughtiness is hatred. No kindred love remains.

Bravo. A strong voice against condemnation!

Charity of heart is true spirituality.

Love you, rd

I never deduct a star for one typo!
It is true that i have resolved to review honestly and with integrity and that my ratings should match the review. But if a poem is very well written, it would take more than one or two spags for me to deduct a star.
