Wow, Sue, you did an excellent job with that. It was easily understood and painted a picture to me of a 100 year old volcano unexpected erupting. I suppose haiku can mean different things to different people but that is what it said to me. I hope I got it right. LOL Good job. Cheryl :)

This is a well structured Haiku and I like the presentation. Most have been red letters and black backgrounds, but it is actually easier to read yours and there red seems like the lava flowing. Great job, good luck in the contest. sugarbear

Hullo Sixteezkid ...

This is another excellent piece of writing with such a strong statement and in full conformity with the Haiku format requirements.
Thank you for sharing this with us and I wish you well in the Contest.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.

This is going to be a tough contest sue this is the third one of these I've read now[Ray's and Indy's the other two] All of them are top draw and well done, loved your Dormant approach friend, good luck.

Hello kiddo,
Nice haiku of a volcano waking up. Lively words creating a picture of action and fury. Good one. Thanks for sharing.

Aha! The Red River. Smoke, ash, molten magma, tremendous power and destruction. Nicely done haiku and good luck in the contest.

Wow, it doesn't get much more graphic than that in such short order. Haikus are not my thing but it amazes me what some people can come up with like this colorful piece.Nicely done!

Sounds like this documentary of mount saint Helen I watched. It had sat still for hundreds of years then all of the sudden boom. It starts pouring out ash and soon after its peak collapses and it becomes an active volcano and the property value of nearby houses goes down. To think that your poem has started this random thought thanks it was entertaining.

This is a wonderful haiku. It evokes wonderful mental images. I like the contrasts between dormant and rages. I like the color choices.
