Hello Sixteezkid,
You sure are a breath of fresh air for this Fanstory group. What I mean is that your poetry is quite unique. You have your own style, and it is quite noticeable.

The poem speaks loud and clear of the trauma of divorce, and its aftermath. For some, it is relief, but for many it is a scar inflicting wound of devastating proportions.

Very well done.
Ellie

Ellie, I am so humbled by your most kind remarks. As I am new at writing, to hear this, only encourages me to continue to write. I always knew that I had my own deep thoughts, but it never occurred to me that I could actually put a voice to them on paper. It is a great feeling. And now I am appreciating poetry in an entirely different light.

I most certainly appreciate your generous review and all your comments. My warmest regards, Sue

Then you have a poet's heart and a natural gift. I am surprised you have only begun. That's neat.

I can relate to this one. Excellent Ground Zero distance analogy! This stanza is beautiful:
And Beyond - Its name is Future
Not looking back,
We call it Fragile

Good work,
Lois

This is a very beautiful analogy , comparing the devastation of a nuclear blast with that of a divorce. I really appreciate the clever work. I like the lines
self titled survivors growing sprigs
Breathing the dirty air
Great work. kudos

A witty and thoughtful metaphor in the sad event of divorce. It truly feels as a ground zero voltage of pain and disaster. I admire your creativity.

Hello 6teez.
This is an exceptional idea to make such an adept comparison. The poem is excellent too. Divorce is highly priced indeed. No post trauma counseling, or critical incident stress debriefing either. fondly, rebecca

Ulster, thank you very much for your most generous review and your comments. Yes, I fear that people believe that divorce is an "easy" option. Grass greener on the other side and all that. Obliteration comes to mind.

Much appreciated and with my warmest regards, Sue

Well, I'm going through just that. After forty-two years of marriage. It does feel like how you mentioned. Am I or the adult children healing yet? Not yet, I don't think. It's almost been a year. I think it will take eternity. Good write.

I'm so sorry to hear that you and your family are going through this. It will not take an eternity for you to get through this. I am a walking testimony that we can move forward. Yes, initially, after the world has shaken, everyone has to adjust. Move away from the epicenter quickly, keep on with your talent and you will find how much you can enjoy "yourself". My warmest regards, Sue
