Our beloved pets pass on but their memory it immortal and they can still make us smile!

Hey dear K, believe it or not, I have never been a cat lover. I am a dog lover. But Kevin was an adorable cat with so much personality and he grew on me.
He will certainly be missed. And yes, that is a picture of Kevin and you would have loved the way he talked to you. He was one noisy cat.

I grew up with dogs and loved them. I got our first cat when the kids nagged me to death (I think they were 7 and 8 at that time)--
We named her "Patience" because the kids said they had to have a LOT of that while they struggled to convince me...

So much so the we do not seem him sometime for a day or more. It is always pleasing to see him when he decides to come home for some affectionate rubbing, but only as much as he allows before letting you know, that it is enough affection. and then he eats and is off again for another adventure.

It is so sad when we lose our pets, even the smallest pets become part of the family. I had two guinea pigs growing up and it still feels strange sometimes that they're not here anymore. I know it's going to be really hard when we lose our dog as I've experienced that before as well. An excellent piece, Debi.

He will certainly be missed. And I believe that even your guinea pigs are just as lovable and worth that pet love like any other. But I have lost many dogs in my life and for me, that is the worst. I hear you about that.

A few months ago my daughter had to put her dog down. He was this little curly-haired thing with eyelashes to die for and he was old and tired and it was time. The people came to her house and we took Ethan outside and let him hobble around in the grass and pay his last respects to a tree, then he curled up in Katharine's lap. The vet gave the shot and we watched Ethan's head slowly droop. It was so sad, but he had had a good life. Still...
Your poem will be a good remembrance for them.

But like what you went thru I understand as I had two dogs die in my arms as I held them too as they were put asleep. Of course my goddaughter is a vet and she came to the house and put them down herself. It's hard isn't it?

Your granddaughter is a vet? How neat. It always amazes me how the vet knows what's wrong, since the animal can't tell them the symptoms.

The vet is one from my hubbies side, but all the rest are from mine and one is a friend's daughter. I never counted them before. There are five. Lol

my love for cats started when I was a young girl sitting on my grandmothers front porch. She had all kind of kittens that would show up there. I was so delighted seeing them playing and running around. Then she ended up with a dog and named him Rocky. I've had one or two in my life that I liked but dogs own me...I have a 13 yr old blind cocker named Lincoln and a very spoiled 6 yr old shih tzu named Snickers. I have had dogs all my life and would be lost without them by my side. Have a great day!
