It was not a surprise that Eileen did not want to come. Her recent health had not been all that good and her enthusiasm for outside activities had waned. Oh, for the good days again. He momentarily thought of how nature brought people together but also slowly pulled them apart
I surely felt this as I have a chronic illness and there are some days where I just cannot go outside and do things as much as I desperately want to. Good job with this work. Best of luck going forward.

Nicole,
Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear that you are suffering of a chronic illness. It must be particularly frustrating for you. My partner has similar restrictions.
Glad you liked the story. This too is derived from real circumstances. Have the best day you can.
Cheers,
Barry Penfold.

I got a really good laugh from this. Being in my late 50's I don't think I am "old" yet especially since I have a lot of friends who are 70, 80 and up and they are just as spry.

Stephen,
Thanks for the review and I am so glad you got a laugh from it. Ken(not his real name) would also be pleased. He became the community hero after this event. It is so good when the elderly still have that hop in their step and in this case, steel in their fist.
Take care and enjoy the day, you youngster.
Regards
Barry Penfold.

I think I might be inclined to do the same thing, it would stop a lot of violent crime. I love the way you wrote and built the plot around a courageous old man, beautifully written Barry, blessings Roy

Roy,
Thanks for your review. Yes, he was a courageous old man, and for his age a very fit one.
Take care and have a wonderful day.
Regards
Barry.
